I’ve stayed at this hotel several times in the past, and it’s always been pretty good. This time it was a complete disaster. We were given a room that was filthy, beat up, with dirty linen, and a shower that was almost black with dirt. I complained at the front desk and they gave me another room that was almost as dirty. But very far from clean. It seems there’s not enough staff to keep the place clean. I understand the economy in Brazil is tough, but when you’re staying in a hotel you expect a minimum of cleanliness. This came nowhere close. The hallways were stained carpet, and the public spaces look like you could use some sprucing up as well. The only thing it was OK was the food. Room service sandwiches were OK, but nothing special especially at the price. Breakfast has always been good, and it continues to be about the same. The breakfast room is probably the cleanest place in the building. Parking is a joke, and was free every time I’ve stayed there. Now, suddenly, they are charging to park there. No where on the Hotels.com site does it say that this is a charged parking space. I complained to the manager who treated me pretty much like an idiot. I think they’re just trying to get a little more money of the guests. I will never stay at this hotel again and recommend that nobody do so. Unless of course you really like a very very dirty hotel. How this hotel claims three stars is beyond me.
