Everything was clean, staff was friendly and helpful with local info, showers were hot, and sufficient bedding for the night temp (no heat), towels, TP, etc. good WiFi. Breakfasts were not fancy but adequate to get us going for the day until we found a good lunch spot. The only trick is not to get a room facing the street, as just down the way there is a disco with loud, often turning angry (even fights), noise from around 11pm to around 5:30am, and outside walls are so thin that unless you are a deep sleeper or expert at using ear plugs (which staff will provide you with), you will be woken up often, despite the padding the staff has put on the window closures. It is unfortunate for the hostal, as otherwise, it is a fine place for budget travelers who want to be close to the Plaza, and besides those noisy disco hours, it is a fine street to walk and enjoy. If you get a room that does not face the street, you may hear late arrivers or very early leavers come in if they talk loudly because the rest of the rooms have windows facing the inner dining area, but that's way better than the disco noise, and not constant during the night. If you get a street room, try to have it switched ASAP!
