The property was very clean, amd the surroundings absolutely lovely, even despite the heavy rain of storm Claudia. It's an old, OLD building, so some creaks and age-related setbacks were expected. However it does seem that the maintenance team is slacking somewhat. Mine and my neighbours' toilets had poor drain venting, and would gurgle loudly. A few electrical sockets were loose or broken. The electric radiator seemed to struggle to keep a comfortable temperature on colder nights (0°C), having been placed bizarrely next to the old single-pane windows.
The staff however were top-notch and the hotel was pristinely clean, with quite a solid breakfast option. Parking was quite plentiful, but beware the kerbs and dips in lowered cars.
Overall a nice experience, but maintenance could be better.
