Beautiful hotel, art deco style is amazing! Stayed in an executive room which was very spacious and clean. Attended a Xmas party event, entertainment was superb but food was disappointing.

A fortune spent on art deco in reception bar and restaurant but rooms average. Staff hard pressed. receptionist very pleasant. Toilet in room seemed to leak.

We stayed at the Earl for one night as a treat for my sister's birthday. The hotel was lovely. The art deco building has been sympathetically restored and has some wonderful touches. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. My niggle was that I'd booked a family room to give us separate beds but on check in, we were placed in a double. When I went to point out the error, the receptionist said it showed our room was a family room (it wasn't) and they were fully booked so there were no other rooms available. She was apologetic. The hotel had checked earlier in the week how many guests would be staying but didn't once ask if we minded the room change. Not great customer service in my view.

Very nice hotel
