I would first like to just say that the young lady who checked us in was very sweet.
However, the room/facility was not as expected. The pictures gave it the "country charm" we were anticipating.
Upon check in, the front desk area smelled really strongly of cat urine. This is also where your "breakfast" is set out...
The outside of the motel is really dingy. Its rural and the snow finally just melted so I let it slide. However, the inside of the room did not meet basic health & safety standards.
The wall furnace was broken so the room was freezing. They had a small electric heater on the table but it did not heat the room much.
Bathroom: Paint peeling off the walls, broken fiberglass (with very sharp edges) in the the tub, the hardware was missing/broken and the caulking was peeling off leaving hair and black slime in the cracks. The toilet was clean and looked updated! But, the sink was the worst! Zero hot water and there was a bucket of brown smelly water under the sink where it was collecting as it came straight out of the drain (so it was full from whoever used it last).
There were live bugs mixed in with the dead ones that were smashed against the walls and furniture (and trapped in the cobwebs above my bed). To add to the general lack of cleanliness, there was hair everywhere (including in my bedding)!
We couldn't stay! I hope it gets fixed up! It has potential. Outdated is one thing, filthy is unacceptable.
