The night sky is amazing, the area beautiful and the food at the restaurant is yummy. Our cabin was very clean, but the carpet was showing some signs of age/heavy use. The bed was very comfortable and supportive - slept well.
The only real negative is the high iron content in the water, both in the cabin and the restaurant. There are also bacteria in the water or at minimum on/in the shower head, as I got a bacterial/fungal infection in my right eye from there and now putting very expensive anti-bacterial/fugal drops in my eye for a week.
I would stay here again but I'd be more careful of the water from the shower.
Thie Crooked Creek Ranch was such a fun and unique experience. Everyone was super nice. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. The food at the restaurant was superb and Elton and I had a wonderful conversation in the morning over coffee. I wish I could have stayed another day.The best part about traveling is the people you meet along the way.

Okay
To reach this place, you have to travel an unpaved gravel road for five miles. It was the bumpiest ride of my life, and very unpleasant to endure. It felt like my car would need a new suspension system by the time we reached the office. The wifi didn't function, so once we settled down for the night we couldn't use our laptops or television. In the morning, they were sold out of ice in the office; staff told me I arrived too late (at 8am?). The cabin itself was fine, it was nice that gas pumps were available (though the price of fuel was too high), and the full-service restaurant/bar onsite was great - it compensated for the property's shortcomings (it would have been hell to have to go back down and up that gravel road again for a restaurant in town).
We enjoy seeking out adventures that are out of the ordinary whilst making fun memories ~ it’s always fun to share when we find something new that’s simply awesome…The Crooked Creek Guest Ranch in Dubois, WY is only 50 + miles away from Jackson, WY and also the South entrance to Yellowstone ~ after driving to the top of the mountain on a county road {that can be kind of bumpy…normal for the mountains and just drive slowly} you will enter the Guest Ranch receiving a warm welcome and enjoy well appointed and comfortable cabins ~ the property has a restaurant and bar within walking distance…playground area and birds and peace and quiet and breathtaking views…we will be excited to return!
What a gem!! Drive up the mountain. It’s breathtaking. Great restaurant and bar. Cozy cabins. Wildlife and sunsets. This is for the adventurers who love a hidden gem.
It was a great place to stay for our last few days out west. The staff was awesome and the food at the on-site restaurant was great!
The cabin was a bit dated but still suited our needs just fine!! I would’ve loved to had better lighting (but maybe it’s because I am getting older?! 😆)
The staff was so very friendly and nice! The owner gave some helpful information about the altitude (which was giving me blood pressure problems). It's a beautiful drive up to the cabins where you see many mule deer and elk along the way. We were even treated to a gorgeous fox! Our cabin was so cute and really comfy! Love love love that they are pet friendly! The only thing I didn't quite understand or agree with was they change a per pet per day fee. But they don't come in and clean the room. So, why is there a daily fee?
Wow! It’s beautiful up here and worth going a little off the beaten path to stay here. Staff was friendly and helpful, room is so cute and cozy and the restaurant and bar was great! Wish I could have stayed there longer and will come back with my love, cause it’s a wonderful romantic getaway
