Property could obviously do with some TLC but was clean. Asked for 2 rooms next to each other, but managed to give with a room in between!! Biggest issue was roundabout outside hotel closed 7pm to 7am which means a 20 mile detour if you want to go out. Not the hotels fault but it would be nice to be advised of that in advance as would have checked in earlier to avoid

Staff were friendly but during dinner the waiters did not check on us as often as they should. We had to ask for essentials eg cutlery and additional items like salt, pepper and sugar. Often we had to leave our table to find assistance. There was no beef, chicken or lamb which restricted the menu greatly.Very poor instructions given to access the hotel during the road works.

A rather disappointing experience overall. The hotel is quite tired in many areas where it is evident that upkeep and cleaning has been lacking. The bed was comfortable but walls and furniture showed a lot of wear and tear. The on-site pool was a great feature but again the changing area facilities were just not as clean and tidy as should be and it was easy to see areas that had been neglected for some time. Breakfast was also average/poor in terms of selection and quality of food. There appeared to be nobody staffing the breakfast area, tables were not cleared or cleaned and both coffee machines were not working. There was nobody to speak to in order to resolve these issues. The whole conservatory area for eating is filthy on the exterior and leaves a very poor impression about the standard of the property which is a shame as it has potential. For the price paid I would described this as average at best and in some areas, poor. Would not recommend.

Our room was cleaned and tidied each day very nicely, fresh towels etc, the dining / restaurant area let the hotel down, the seat covers were not fitted correctly, the room / conservatory looked very tired. The bar area was comfortable, reception check in was efficient, only criticism was the attention to detail especially in the restaurant.

Staff in restaurant were nice however to be told no bar menu in the bar only restaurant menu then told no chicken, steak or shoulder of lamb was a poor show. My chicken skewers were returned as not cooked( I was recompensed for this) . I actually felt sorry for the staff having to deliver the above. Hotel needs some TLC!

This is such a beautiful property and very well maintained. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. The pool and gym are a great add on to the stay here and the rooms are very comfortable.

The staff were lovely and very polite and helpful . The issue is that this hotel has historically been managed by reputable companies and i think there has been a drop in standards by the senior people . They dont allow simple things such as charging to your room . Thats only one but is not good when you have to pay for every drink or coffee as you buy it . The pther is soap . Its in a bottle . Thats says a lot!

We were here for 2 nights and without our knowledge the staff moved our belongings to a different room. It was most disconcerting. Also both bathrooms smell highly of urine. We were told it was a problem with all of the bathrooms and that they are working on it.
