I arrived at about 15:00 on day of booking to be told my booking had been cancelled on 10th June. I can find no trace of the cancellation on the day, no computer with me, just a confirmation of booking printout. Asked to leave!
Expedia can find no documentation of cancellation. Hotels cannot find any cancellation nor can OYO so I presume the hotel cancelled, did not tell me but they had double booked. BEWARE! All accommodation in town booked due to major event. 2 coach loads in hotel could be the reason! No refund as yet from cancellation!
Hotel is a bit dated, room was very very small, bed okay, pillow's too hard. View out the window was a derelict building and grounds. Dinner menu wasn't good. Didn't try breakfast. Staff member at reception was friendly and polite.
Room was clean, however bedside light wasnt working.
Request made for walk in shower due to mobility issues but wasn't available.
No milk sachets in the hotel for the complimentary tea/coffee.
Was advised that there were 5 steps, however there were at least 15 steps to the room which due mobility issues presented hazard.
Breakfast was meant to be included however breakfast consisted of a packet of sandwiches, a bottle of juice, crisps and a packet of biscuits in a brown bag.
Overall, disappointing.
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! After a long day of travel, and being soaking wet, we finally got to the hotel only to be told THEY OVERBOOKED and sent us an email saying we were thrown over to their sister hotel. I never received an email about an overbooking nor did I get any prior notification of being booked at another hotel. The horrible woman at the front desk kept insisting she had send an email notifying me they had overbooked but I never received such notification. The staff was rude and rushed us out the door so they could continue to shuffle through their papers. DO NOT STAY HERE. Choose somewhere else to spend your money.

Really unique property. We felt we were in the past, most guests relaxing in the lounge waiting to be called for dinner. Beautiful view of the water, the property was right on the promenade. The dinner was a set price and included 3 courses. It was excellent! We enjoyed our stay except for the door would creak with the breeze and kept us awake until we finally thought to jam something in between. But all in all, was a great place to stay and I would stay again.

The hotel was clean, quiet and breakfast amazing. Definitely will return.
Manager and Shona on reception were extremely nice and helpful, as were all the staff we came in contact with. The hotel was in an excellent position with a wonderful outlook on the Bay. our room was excellent, but in spite of being very busy Shona assisted us by upgrading to room with sea view ( Angus ) as soon as it became available without charge. Would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone wishing a break in Dunoon. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Bar service excellent and moderately priced.
