Hawk Nest Stay-6 nights

-Beautiful view from porch; lovely in the morning; full sun in the afternoon. -Convenient to town. -Although GPS was accurate, it was difficult to be certain of location, especially as sundown approached, because: 1) no house # on fence or house; 2) picture posted showed upper walls of white stucco but stucco had been painted brown; 3) picture posted showed only lower story, so no idea of what the house looked like. -Second night a very loud group came in at 11pm with heavy treads up stairs & into rooms, loud placing of luggage, and loud conversation. Called property manager after 15 minutes; they texted and things quieted down. No problems after that. -Night light in main room had burned-out bulb; reported the first morning, but was not replaced during following 5 days; the night light in the bath had insufficient light to be useful at night. -Entry required 10 digits; often had to enter multiple times. The day before leaving, code no longer worked. After 10-15 minutes on phone with property manager, finally given lock box code to get key.

Vacasa Property Management is a 3 & the Property is a 5

There we so many mistakes and mis-information from "Vacasa" and the list of amenities on the VRBO site are out of date. What a shame because the House is a "5"!!! Here's a few examples: 1) Vacasa told us there were no plates, glasses, silverware BUT there were; 2) Vacasa locked us out of the house before our departure time; 3) Vacasa has not seen the property - they need to have local people answer questions about this property vs. staff that know nothing about the property; 4) Vacasa told us the BBQ was off limits BUT the local Cleaning Person told us that we could use it. The burners on the BBQ need to be fixed (most don't work) and they need to supply BBQ utensils so that we don't burn our fingers when using it. IF for some strange reason the BBQ is off limits, why was it right by the front door and not moved into the garage or removed from our sight? There's more ... P.S. The house was very clean when we arrived!!!

Great location close to town

Loved the location, the cabin was cute. It was clean but could use some maintenance-had to walk through waist high weeds to get to the door and the shower was super slow to drain which made the tub slippery. Overall I would recommend the property

Great location!

Positive: close to town, quiet and close to national forest, full size washer and dryer, useable kitchen, covered patio, deer visit the property. Negatives: can hear neighbors upstairs walking, shutting doors, going up and down stairs. Hope your schedule is the same as theirs. Extremely annoying. Tub was clogged with hair in drain and we had to clean otherwise we showered in 3-4" of water, laundry room smells like cat urine, outside patio furniture is filthy and torn, beer cans on property grounds show lack of attention to cleanliness and detail by staff, stairs up to cabin are loose and uneven, towels are very rough, bring your own toiletries including TP as limited amount provided, dishes dirty check before using. Bring your streaming passwords or else there is no TV. Limited cell phone service.

Beautiful

We had a great time, loved sitting outside each morning and having a cup of coffee while enjoying the quiet and peace and nature. The only negative thing I have is how much dust and dirt under bedroom furniture, I dropped my phone cord and found an old dirty sock and a bunch of dirt- I have an VRBO myself and this did not bother me but wanted to make you aware that your cleaning crew isn’t cleaning under bedroom furniture:(

Quiet and Restful

The unit was beautiful and the view was great. We spent a lot of time on the porch overlooking the lake and hills. Very quiet and restful. We were able to access three different hiking trails without getting on the main highway through Durango. The listing said that there was cable TV, but there wasn't. Luckily we had our Netflix password. We had an enjoyable stay.

Disappointed

The condo was cute and it was just enough outside of town. However, there was no AC (didn’t notice that in description of condo) and they advertised there was cable TV and satellite but there was t either. The noise from renters up stairs was horrible. Was told to park in gravel parking but the stairs leading to the condo was very unsafe. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Peaceful area without cell service

Beautiful area! The size was perfect for the two of us. Full size washer and dryer was a bonus. The studio is a bottom unit in a house and you can really hear the people above you walking and talking, especially when they wear shoes. If you are a light sleeper beware. The unit has an abundance of kitchen gadgets, but no potato peeler, cookie sheets, large bowls for salad or spaghetti. Lots of pots with mismatched lids. The directions to the place were not quite correct. We arrived when it was dark and ended up at another house. The owner came out and told us this happens all the time. You cannot see the numbers at night. Our biggest issue was trying to get up the stairs with luggage. It was overgrown with weeds that were waist high and it was dark. No cell phone service for AT&T or Verizon.

Lovely Stay

Turtle Lake is a lovely property. Light and bright and nicely furnished. It has all the amenities you need. About 10 minutes from Durango in a quiet area. We would stay here again.

Beautiful and quiet

This studio is fairly new and sits with a great view of Turtle Lake on a secluded road. The furniture is new, and everything was great except the bed frame which was wobbly. This unit does sit under the main house, so if someone else is renting above you may have overhead footsteps.

Cozy Lodge Just Outside of Durango

My husband and I really enjoyed staying here! Being just outside of town--but not too far from the main road--was a perfect spot for our getaway vacation. The views are beautiful, and the space of this apartment was perfect for our 3-night stay. Some aspects of the apartment do require a bit of attention (some grouting coming apart, some general cleaning, and some additional blinds for us city folk), but nothing that effected our overall enjoyment. We do wish that more convenience items were provided (i.e. dish-cleaning sponge and paper towels) to make our stay that much better.
