The Lookout House at Pirates Bay
Summary:
Find yourself in one of Tasmania’s most pristine and naturally beautiful regions, just one hour’s drive from Hobart.
With elevated views of the stunning Pirates Bay, Lookout House in Eaglehawk Neck offers seclusion and expansive views in a modern home nestled into the bush.
Featuring two bedrooms and one bathroom, travellers can easily access local attractions including Port Arthur, Tessellated Pavement, Devil’s Kitchen and Tasman National Park from the home.
The Space:
Lookout House is a pared-back energy efficient architecturally designed home. Spacious and modern this home is resting into the elevated land, offers floor-to-ceiling views from the open plan kitchen and lounge, as well as both bedrooms.
Peer into Pirates Bay’s blue waters from sun-up to sunset at Lookout House while you enjoy the wonders of this rugged and beautiful region.
Minimally designed and decorated, the home offers warmth with floorboards and wooden cabinetry throughout and a cosy wood fire to warm the whole house.
Enjoy a morning brew from the café-quality coffee machine, or cook a delicious meal in the well appointed kitchen. The home also has internet available to stay connected.
Two generous sized bedrooms with Queen sized beds and ocean views and a beautiful bathroom with views of surrounding nature, and underfloor heating to indulge on cool evenings, and features a laundry with washing machine.
Lookout House is close to the incredible sights of the region – just 15 minutes to Port Arthur, 3 minutes to the must-see Tessellated Pathway, a short drive to Devil’s Kitchen or explore Tasman National Park, just 30 minutes away.
For food, fuel and conveniences, Murdunna Roadhouse is less than 10-minutes drive from the house, and plenty of options to stock up in nearby Sorrel when traveling from Hobart.
Enjoy incredible restaurants like Van Bone and 1830 Restaurant & Bar in the region – some of Tasmania’s finest dining experiences.

Guests have full access and private use of the entire property.
The Neighborhood:
Eaglehawk Neck is a small coastal town in southeast Tasmania, just one hour’s drive from the capital, Hobart. Built around a narrow bar of land, Eaglehawk Neck connects Tasman Peninsula and Forestier Peninsula.

For produce try the Raspberry Farm in Koonya for farm-to-table jams or Eaglehawk Neck & Bream Creek Markets for artisan products. Cubed Espresso at Pirate Bay lookout also makes great coffee and banana bread!
Keep an eye out for the abundance of wildlife in the region including Pademelons, Echidnas, Wombats, Penguins and birdlife.
