The lobby area was a bit worn looking. The on-site restaurant was also not open so we were told to go to their next door sister property. The biggest complaints were the hard beds and the small bedroom. We got a queen with the fold out couch for our son and it was hard to walk around the room...also because there was a support beam in the middle of the room. The bathroom was nicely sized and had nice amenities. I appreciated the tea center and fridge.

Well-equipped and modern room. Bathroom was clean and stylish. The bar in the hotel was closed for the 2 nights, not great. They offered you to go to another hotel in the same chain but not ideal when this isn’t shared before booking.

This was the second time in 2 years that I have stayed at this particular property while traveling alone. Very clean, safe, and good amenities. The only complaint is that there is no mirror in the bedroom, where one has to dry their hair because of the electrical configurations in the UK. As in, no outlet for a hairdryer in the bathroom, which is fine -- as long as there is a mirror available in the space where the outlet is. First world problem? Yes. Still annoying for a higher end hotel? Definitely.

Be careful about room choice

I booked a City Double Room, 1 Queen Bed. The room I got looked nothing like the pictures (it was much smaller), and was at a balmy 84ºF (29ºC) with no AC. I'm not even sure how this was possible given the outside temperature was in the 50s. There was a small portable fan that did little more than turn the room into a convection oven. The first night there were no other rooms available, but on my second night they were able to move me to a much larger room with AC, at a small additional cost. This is the only reason I'm giving this hotel a 3-star rating; otherwise it would be 1-star.
