Cheap Hotels in El Carmen

This was the first visit to Costa Rica for my family (spouse, kiddos, and parents). I had been 20 years ago, but not to Samara. The house was perfectly set up and offer space and place for everyone. Each day, we were greeting by howler monkeys and iguanas. The mother-in-law would make morning coffee and sit at the patio watching the passing monkey troup. My youngest daughter was in love with the pool and spent more afternoons there. The house itself is near but not directly in town and was quiet peaceful each day. We would easily come back again.

We had a wonderful relaxing time in the wooded hills of Playa Samara. The two-bedroom two-bath house was comfortable and well stocked with a wonderful salt-water pool, all with grand views of the mountains (and sunrise). The trees and grounds are full of wildlife including howler monkeys, wandering through in the mornings and evenings. The owners are a wealth of knowledge and truly work to provide a happy experience. You get to experience Samara beach and the wildlife at this location, but note that you will want an AWD vehicle for some sections of the road between the house and town.

A beautiful property and convenient location. House worked perfectly for our group and we all loved everything it had to offer. Mary-Ellen was very responsive, helpful and provided a lot of details regarding the area. Would love to visit this house/location again!

Our best stay in Costa Rica! We traveled to many different regions over the course of our 2 weeks in this beautiful country. This home was our last stop and the best in terms of amenities, cleanliness, surroundings and comfort. It’s about a 10 -15 minute ride to some amazing beaches.

We just returned home from an amazing three week vacation at Casa Sendero de Monos. This lovely modern home is clean, organized, uncluttered and well stocked with everything you need. It’s perfect for two couples or a family of four. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with good quality pots, dishes, knives etc. We appreciated the beach chairs, beach towels, ample bathroom towels, outdoor drying rack, good quality BBQ and cleaning supplies. The beds are very comfortable and the AC in the bedrooms is great. We felt very safe and noticed the high quality doors and windows. This large beautifully landscaped property is serene and private. The surrounding forest/jungle resonates with the songs of tropical birds, crickets and howler monkeys. It is MAGICAL !!! The monkeys royally entertained us as they travelled through their “pathway” of trees. GREAT for birding!! We loved the large refreshing pool and covered patio area. We loved this location because we felt totally surrounded by nature but we were only 7-10 minutes from Samara. The owner and property manager responded quickly to enquiries/questions.
