I use to stay at this hotel 3 times per year. I considered it my home away from home. I stopped staying there about four years ago due to the dated furniture and less than desirable rooms. My daughter informed me it was advertised on the Expedia website as updated. Well, that is the furthest thing from the truth. The rooms are still dated. Upon entering room 118 it had a musty odor. There was noticeable water damage to the upper right corner of the ceiling and drape. The bathroom had a tub and not a tiled shower. Stepping into the tub was difficult for my 82 year old mother. The towels and wash cloths felt like sandpaper. The toilet seat was loose. The "update" to the room were changing the red strip of fabric on the bed and a side chair to black. The only "update" were the addition of a sports bar like restaurant and a record player and Bob Marley album for sale in the room. The breakfast buffet was the best at all the hotels in Kingston. It too was a disappointment. However, one thing that had not charged was the service provided by the staff. Jasmine my room attendant did an impeccable job ensuring the room was to my satisfaction. Tanisha in the dining room went above and beyond to make my mum happy at breakfast. The room attendant supervisor helped us out to our car and loaded our bags in the trunk for us. For the reasons mentioned above, I will not return. Sad to see a once excellent place to stay be just an ok place.
