I chose this hotel because it was close enough day trips to San Sebastian, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, & Saint Jean-Pied-de-Port, & the price was reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this 3 star, historic hotel. The staff were so helpful & service was lovely; the common sitting room for guests and breakfast room was comfortable & elegant, with a cocktail hour. The continental breakfast was absolutely fantastic - many high-quality items from which to choose.
The room itself was as expected from an older building - smaller but comfortable, & my room had a view to the church. The bathroom was modern & had everything I required, including a hairdryer. My only wish was that the towels were just a little better, or perhaps laundered differently (they felt a little scratchy, but I'm being picky).
Everything you could want for a short stay is within walking distance, & the town itself is very charming. I loved my stay so much that I would return again JUST to stay at this hotel & explore this tiny town and area again. This hotel did not feel like 3 star hotel at all, & I was incredibly happy with the experience.
Important to note - the church is situated directly behind the hotel, and the church bell rings regularly. If you are a light sleeper, you will definitely need to keep your window closed. There is plenty of parking on site, which is great. You will need to enter from the parking area, as the "front" of the hotel isn't necessarily the best to enter.
