About this property

A secluded getaway in a great location - 30 minutes from Lake Placid!

30 minutes from Lake Placid, our guest cottage is set back against the woods and offers an ideal pet-friendly space for outdoor enthusiasts, a couple's retreat, or those just looking to have a peaceful getaway in the mountains.

Explore our 25 acres of fields, forests, and ponds, take a trail down to the nearby river for a swim - all while enjoying stellar views of the Adirondack peaks.

The guest cottage sits back against the woods about 30 yards from the main house. It has a large living area, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom as well as two covered porches, one screened-in and the other one open.

The living area has a 4 person dining table for meals, a Roku-equipped TV, sitting area, daybed and gaming closet.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has great views overlooking the forest and property. It has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a small writing desk, and an adjoining closet for hanging clothes and ironing.

The bathroom houses an original Adirondack stained glass window, and includes a large cast-iron soaking tub with complimentary bath salts, bubble bath, toiletries, candles, and face masks. While there is currently no shower available, many guests have found the bath time to be a highlight of their stay.

The kitchen is furnished with a full size refrigerator/freezer, 4 range stove-top and oven, coffeemaker and toaster. There are cast iron as well as regular pots and pans, cutting board, and all the cooking utensils you could need. There is also an additional pantry for food storage.

The upper porch has an additional dining area for four. It also features a twin-sized bed with netted canopy for guests looking to spend a night or two closer to the outdoors.

Guest Access
Guests are welcome to take advantage of our self-check in process - which includes a photo slideshow of how to access the space and thorough written instructions.

We are also available anytime in person or over the phone to help guests who are having trouble finding our place or who may need assistance.

Bringing pets:
We happily welcome up to two pets - we ask that all pets be declared at the time of booking as we charge a small pet fee of $39/stay. All pets must be leashed when near the house and crated if left alone in the space for any length of time. Unfortunately, service animals cannot be left alone in the space, regardless if crated.

Other notes:
> There is no air-conditioning, however the space remains about 10-15 degrees cooler during the summer months due to it's location.
> Laundry is available at the main house once per week for those staying 7 nights or longer.
> Guests are not permitted to receive mail or packages at this address, regardless of length of stay.
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. The bathroom has a bathtub and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a coffee/tea maker and a washing machine, and housekeeping is provided on request.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills and bike parking.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Peaceful Stay
We had a wonderful stay in a guest cottage that was part of an old turn of the century property with multiple outbuildings. The cottage was private and nestled in a forested hillside not far from the main house. A short walk brought you from looking out a beautiful forest to a few of the surrounding mountains. The grounds included trails that brought you down to the nearby Bouquet River. You walk into a comfortable living room with an adjacent deck. Upstairs was a large bedroom, a serviceable kitchen, bathroom with a beautiful

Peaceful Adirondack cabin.
Charming cabin in Adirondack woods. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Many porches looking out into trees. Near main house but very private. Beautiful meadow with spectacular mountain views -- including Giant in far distance. Kyle is a great host, thoughtful and responsive. Lovely place to relax in the beautiful Adirondacks.
