The Space:
Pine Edge Heights by Tiny Away is located in the rural locality of Ellendale, Tasmania. Atop one of the highest points on the property, it offers spectacular views of the surrounding area to the north. To the south is a small dam and natural bush, ideal for getting away from the city.
It's a comfortable 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: We would like to remind guests that we are a working farm so there may be agricultural noise and heavy machinery in use. For the safety of guests and other residents passing in the area signs will be put on the farm paddock gate when work is in progress.
Guest Advisory:
Campfires are currently prohibited due to dry, windy weather. We're monitoring conditions daily and will update guests if this changes.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny home, the top 2 paddocks entered from the main gate, and the bushland portion of the block.
Guests will have limited access to the main homestead paddock and working paddocks which needs permission from the host.
If you are interested, limited meals listed below are available for an extra cost by prior arrangement with the host 48 hrs before arrival.
- Breakfast options may include freshly cooked bacon with farm fresh eggs (when the girl’s are laying), mini breakfast dampers, a variety of cereals, or a turkish roll with homemade jams, peanut butter, vegemite etc. Please call/message ahead to organise.

Pine Edge Heights by Tiny Away sits in the quiet little community of Ellendale, situated in the Central LGA region. It's one of the best tiny house rentals in Tasmania where you can explore parks, lakes, restaurants, and more.
Our local recommendations:
- Lake Gordon and Lake Pedder are one of the best and most stunning attractions, great for short walks beside the lake.
- Lake Meadowbank is a popular fishing spot managed by the Inland Fisheries Service with brown trout, rainbow trout, and many more.
- Mount Field National Park often known as "the park for of all seasons" is a stunning natural flora that offers an ever-changing view as you climb to higher altitudes
- Styx Tall Trees, or giant ash trees, are a conservation area measuring over 90 meters in height, with girths that make them among the world's largest and tallest trees.
- Possum Shed Cafe, Waterfalls Cafe and Gallery, The Agrarian Kitchen, and Ouse Roadhouse are just of the nearby restaurants with only a short 10-22 min drive away from the property.
Getting Around:
By car:
- From Ellendale is: 3hrs, 235km to Devonport
70 minutes, 75km to Hobart
2hrs 30minutes, 195km to Launceston
3hr 30minutes, 239km to the rugged west coast;
1hr 45minutes, 128km to the picturesque east coast; with lots to see and do on the way. The property is reachable by 2WD.
By public transport:
- There is a bus service from Hobart to Ellendale, with the property hosts available to take you on the short trip out to the farm. Most of this part of Tasmania however requires a motor vehicle or bicycle for the really adventurous.
Other Things to Note:
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- 2degrees and Spark have no reception on the property
- No smoking inside the tiny home; only in designated areas
- Telstra and Optus have good signals, and Vodafone is weak
- Do not enter closed gates/paddocks as work may be carried out
- Keep an eye out for your surroundings and follow the safety instructions
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- We have working dogs, ducks, chooks, geese, a small herd of sheep, and abundant wildlife on the property
- You may be able to gather eggs for breakfast or join the evening feed and round-up (depending on seasonality).
Guesty Advisory
- Access around the site is limited to pedestrian access only. If gates are locked there is work being carried out within that paddock so please do not enter as we are a working farm.
Important note:
- Should you spot something amiss please report it to the hosts immediately
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Please follow the safety directions given and always keep an eye out for your surroundings
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
