Yellowstone Trail Lodge · Yellowstone National park

If you could still follow the historic Yellowstone Trail to Yellowstone National Park you would pass this modern day western cabin - full of all the amenities you dream of in a vacation home, but only a short 30 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park.

The Yellowstone Trail Lodge is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath home, and only 10 years old. The home is furnished with the finest furniture, new mattresses and every detail and amenity you could imagine. You will find yourself at the end of a rural road (but still very easy to drive to) with uninterrupted views of the Absaroka mountains and the surrounding "Paradise Valley." The minute you step inside and see the deer and antelope grazing in the 4 acres surrounding the property, you know you have found your Montana vacation home.
The lower level has a bedroom with a queen bed and nice desk, full bath and washer / dryer closet. The full kitchen with dining area is ideal for cooking meals to eat with breathtaking views or outside on the patio, enjoying the Big Sky air. Stocked with large and small appliances (all new), utensils and serving ware for the entire group.
The living room has seating for all, windows with views, and a pull out sofa (queen size) for additional sleeping. The flatscreen smart TV has Direct TV and a very simple stereo system.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and a shared full bathroom - the first bedroom has a queen bed, TV, and desk - and of course, more of those amazing views. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and a dresser.
Aside from everything in the home being like new, well thought out and comfortable, you cannot imagine a more ideal location for a trip to explore the mountains, rivers, towns and your favorite National Park.
The owners of the home manage a hotel in the west and know what it takes to make a guest feel at home. They also have a love for the history and romance of the historic Yellowstone Trail - a historic route that is mere yards from where the home sits. In addition to a sense of place, you will find interesting history and artifacts in the home. The Yellowstone Trail Lodge will quickly become the place you will want to return to year after year with your family and friends.

You can access the home with an electronic keypad on the front door. There is also a backdoor key pad if needed.

We live in Livingston and are available for questions or emergencies. Most info is in the welcome book or sent to you prior to arrival, but please do not hesitate to call us with any questions! We are always happy to help and would always prefer a question rather than any frustration on your part!

You are in a neighborhood, with other homes around, but it's definitely still "rural." You are 15 minutes or less from restaurants, bars, hot springs and groceries.

You will need a car to get around the area. You are an easy and short drive to Gardiner and Yellowstone National Park (to the south) or 10 minutes from Emigrant (to the north) where you can find groceries, gas, restaurants, and entertainment in either. Livingston is 25 minutes to the North of the house. We recommend 4 wheel drive in the winter time. The roads in the neighborhood are plowed in the winter, but its always a good idea in Montana!
Make yourself comfortable in this vacation home, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private balcony or patio. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a desk and a microwave, and housekeeping is provided on request.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as concierge services and barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Trip with Friends

Was looking for a place to stay near the Yellowstone area with some buddies as a final trip before college and found this. The house and view were even better than pictured on VRBO.

A wonderful place!

Our family came from three different parts of the world to enjoy this lovely home while we explored all that Livingston and Yellowstone had to offer. The process was seamless, the home clean and comfortable (with a well-equipped kitchen), and the view spectacular. Highly recommended.

Perfect Montana Cabin in Paradise Valley

Perfect location for a cabin away from all the noise of a nearby town but close enough to Yellowstone for a short daily drive down for a family vacation and close enough to Livingston to grab groceries and gas. Perfect size for our family of 5. Loved the outdoor games and the star-gazing at night.

Amazing Views

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin had everything we needed, was very clean and had some of the best views we've ever seen. It's not crowded around a bunch of other cabins and was still convenient to the north entrance of Yellowstone (about a half hour drive). The communication with the property manager was great. I would rent from them again.

Even better than the pictures portray

My wife and I drove cross country with our two children to tour some national parks. We used this location as a base to explore Yellowstone for 5 days. We absolutely loved everything about the property. The online pictures are fair in representing the cabin but once we got there, we were blown away by the views. The pictures can’t even do justice to experiencing the property. The cabin was extremely clean with a great layout, fantastic views and had a nice place to eat breakfast in the morning looking out the bay window. Coffee on the patio overlooking the mountain every morning was the best! The property is technically in a small neighborhood but it is nice and secluded. We didn’t see anybody else our whole stay. It is approximately 30-35 minutes from the North Gate of Yellowstone. Gardiner is nice little town to eat and shop as well. The host was responsive and had good suggestions for local activities and places to eat. Overall, this was a phenomenal experience and would love to make it back to this property.

Beautiful location!

We had a great time exploring the area and hiking the trails. We were sad the entrance to Yellowstone was closed due to flooding but we still had a great time. We had dinner at the Outpost one night and then at Follow yer nose BBQ. The house was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay in Emigrant.

Fantastic!

This house was perfect for our family of six. The house is even better in person. We used this as a base for Yellowstone - approximately 30 minutes to the park. There is a very well stocked grocery store and decent restaurant 10 minutes away in Emigrant. You can also eat in Gardiner, the entrance town to the park. However, reservations for dinner are a must and it is very crowded. Livingston is bigger and has more to offer if needed. Bear spray and coolers are at the house so check before you buy. Enough paper products and all soaps provided which lasted us 6 days. The temps were cool so the house was comfortable. We did learn to stagger showers so that the hot water didn’t run out. Overall, great house for exploring the area. Enjoy the fabulous view!

Book this home!!!

This home was without a doubt the best rental home we have ever stayed in! Communication was very thorough and we did not encounter any issues while staying at Yellowstone Trail. The house was clean and very cozy. Loved the decor and we felt right at home. Everything we could have needed was provided. Beautiful views of Emigrant and the perfect place to relax and unwind. Perfect location for visiting Yellowstone National Park, easy 30 minute drive to Gardiner and the Roosevelt Arch. You will be 100% glad you booked this home for your MT vacation! It may a few years before we come back to this area, but we would absolutely book this home again.

What a wonderful property! I did not want to leave after waking up to the gorgeous sunrise every morning over the mountains. The house was very clean and just as listed with all of the amenities you could ask for. The town was perfect, some cute restaurants, a little grocery store and a quick 30 minute drive to the park. Hope to come back!

Beautiful views

Very nice house and beautiful views! Every convenience for a comfortable stay. Our trip coincided with high temperatures and it was very warm inside with no air conditioning. The nights cooled off after midnight so we could finally sleep comfortably . I think ceiling fans would be a nice addition. The road to the house is very rough with pot holes and could use some attention, but that is probably a county project. Overall, it was a great trip.

Great location for Yellowstone

This is a great location for visiting Yellowstone! The house is less than 30 minutes to the north entrance. The house is also great. Very very clean. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need to prepare meals. The most amazing part is the back yard with unbelievable views. Communication with the property management is also great. We had a little issue with the keypad and they sent someone out right away and fixed it. They responded to our emails right away. Definitely a 5 star location!

Gorgeous

We stayed 4 nights but wished we had more time. The view of the mountains was spectacular, the house well stocked with needed things, including a can of bear spray that we forgot to bring with us (luckily we didn't need to use it). The drive into Yellowstone although not short didn't feel like it took long at all as it was still scenic. You definitely want to go slow on the side streets leading there as they are filled with small potholes, which is city run and not the fault of the property. If it is hot outside make sure to prop a fan in front of the open windows in the evening as it will cool the house down, we didn't figure that out till our second night and had a hard time lol. When we had problems they were addressed quickly and we were very happy with our stay.
