The property is in very good condition - looks to be recently refurbished. The staff are friendly enough, though mostly seem a little distant. It would have got a higher score but the housekeeping was really haphazard. We had to remake the bed every night as the bottom sheet was tucked in tightly at the base and one side, so lose at top and the other side so that it wrinkled up and pillows left crumpled. Same with the duvet (who tucks in a duvet?) so that it didn't overhang on one side of the bed - my side of course!. The tea/coffee tray was not replenished and one day the dregs of the tea had been tipped into the sink, which had not been cleaned. And please put proper glasses in the room, not the flimsy paper cups that collapse as soon as you try to pick them up. After 3 days of use, they were probably not very hygienic either. Despite these shortcomings, we would stay here again and would love to give it a higher score if they sorted out these basic mistakes.
Note that the hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the centre and Exeter is on the top of a steep hill. Good for walking off the hearty cooked breakfast and all the excellent food avilable in town!
