Room was fine. Owner was too invested in telling us to book tours with him. He took us to a very mediocre restaurant on our first night after telling us to cancel another reservation we made.
Great hotel, good location and amazing hosts, hotel owner gave us several hints about places to go and what to avoid in the area. Our room was very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. Would stay here again!
The lodging was great from the check in to the hospitality. The bedroom was great since they provided plenty of extra blankets to keep you warm at night as well as a heater in the room. The water was hot which was nice. Location was easy with their clear meeting instructions.

We did not actually stay here because of the covid-19. But are writing this because despite us paying for the stay in advance they contacted us to say that they would not be requesting the fee from Expedia. Given that they will be falling in hard times now as the country shuts down and we had past the cancellation date, they did not have to do this. It shows the generosity of the establishment and people of Morocco. I expect that they care about the people they host and had we’d been able to stay that we would have been well cared for.
Absolutely loved Dar Hafsa!!! Our host and the staff were incredibly gracious. Interior and rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious!!! We will recommend to anyone interested in going to Fes!!!
Dar Hafsa was a very nice facility. The ground level common area was small but very comfortable, as was the room. Staff were friendly and the morning breakfast was good. Staff were a bit negative about some of the tour activities we had planned and at times were a bit pushy about using their tour recommendations and potential souvenir purchases.
The owner and staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. They are very interested in your safety in the Medina and provide a multitude of practical tips to make your stay especially enjoyable. They can arrange Tours and excursions if wanted. The owner was very honest about what he could offer (excursion wise)and so there were no nasty surprises or hidden add ons.Everything was delivered as he stated. Breakfasts were plentiful and contained much variety. So much that I could not eat everything offered. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The only negative to the twin room (blue room) was that there wasn’t a closet for hanging my clothes. There was a cupboard with shelves for storage but no hanging closet. Cleaning was ok. The Bedroom especially spotless. As I was leaving I saw firsthand how thoroughly they cleaned the room for the next guest. Bathroom cleaning was of an acceptable standard. They also kept my case past checkout time as I had a later flight. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this Dar due to the owners hard efforts put into making your stay both safe and enjoyable.I also would recommend this property Because of its location being very close to the main thoroughfare in the Medina (very easy to find)and only 10 mins walk from the Bab Boujloud.
Dar Hamsa is a lovely RIAD tucked away in the Fes Medina. The building is beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very nice, but a little overkill. Way too much food, but not a complaint. We were on the third floor and the room / bathroom set up a little strange but to be expected in a RIAD.
The building is very nice. Rooms are basic but that’s all we need. The breakfast was great.
The location. It’s very hard to find. There is no sign on the door so you need to call the hotel and get someone to meet you. Use google maps to get close and then call to have someone meet you.
Because it’s a busy intersection, many faux guides hang out there so if you look lost they will offer to show you the hotel. Do not take the offer. Simply say no thanks you are waiting for the hotel staff. If you do say yes, they will expect money.
The owner (staff) were excellent and very professional. We cannot over state their zeal in making us comfortable. This riad has been in their family for decades and it shows.
Thanks Abdul
We had an abosultely wonderful time at Dar Hafsa! We received fantastic service. The people working here were very kind and the accommodations were great. We would highly recommend staying here to everyone!
We only had a very limited time in Fes but our stay in Dar Hafsa made us feel that we had the best experience the city has to offer. The owner and staff are very warm, accommodating and kind. They spend time getting to know their customers and this made our stay truly rewarding. The place itself is a gem with its traditional Moroccan interiors, and the famous breakfast did not disappoint. The location is perfect as it is in the heart of the Medina, but situated perfectly so you are away from the hustle and bustle at night to allow restful sleep. Definitely a genuine gem of the city of Fes.
After a long and tiring day travelling, it was nice to receive a warm welcome from Abdul and Mohammed at Dar Hafsa. The riad is located within the medina and offers comfortable rooms, an incredible breakfast and delicious mint tea. Abdul was able to assist organising our tour requests as well. One suggestion is to contact Dar Hafsa prior to arrival and they will be happy to assist you in getting to the riad thru the medina maze. Really enjoyed our stay at Dar Hafsa.
Dar Hafsa is one of the best places I’ve stayed while traveling — ever. The riad itself is beautiful and super clean, and the beds are comfortable and WiFi access is great. What makes this place so special, however, is the staff. From the minute I booked a room to hopping in a taxi to the train station, every single need/want was taken care of. I felt incredibly safe as a solo female traveler and appreciated the local tips the staff offered. I would recommend this place to all of my friends and family.
Very comfortable stay here, host friendly and responsive, actually tried to make an effort to make our trip pleasant and enjoyable. Fantastic breakfast. Room clean and comfortable. Fes can be a bit disorientating and the hotel is slightly away from the main streets which is more peaceful.
Nice place, helpful owner, and cute staffs. If I have any chance, I would definitely go back for those lovely people.
Dar Hafsa was a great place to stay. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the breakfast was great. They even arranged for a city-approved tour guide to show us around the medina. This is something I'd recommend as it's very easy to get lost in Fes. We even watched part of a Moroccan national sooner team game with them. The price was superb too. It's very good value. Highly recommend!
The staff here were so incredible friendly and helpful, Soufiane we spoke to a lot and he was delightful. Rooms were very clean, beds comfy and breakfast fresh and tasty. Hard to ask for much more really.
The only minor point I would say it that the place is located down a side alley which will no doubt have people hassling you asking where you are going in the evening. I wouldn't expect any trouble but on your first night it can feel a bit intimidating.
