First impressions were very good. This is an old building full of character and a stones through away from the main sights in Florence. As its name suggests there are lots of stairs, and we did request a lower floor room in advance so it was a bit disappointing to find ourselves on an upper floor. There is a tiny lift suitable for 2 persons only so we had to travel separately to get our suitcases to the room. This also meant we had to wait if other people were using the lift 2 at a time. A bit of a drag when we got caught behind large groups with many suitcases. The room itself was spacious and with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was good with some quite unusual and tasty food on offer. There is a lovely outdoor terrace but this is accessible via some steep steps so not something we wanted to negotiate with plates of food. We did have some very pleasant evening drinks there though. There are some very good restaurants near to the hotel and overall had an excellent culinary experience. This is a nice hotel and I'd stay again but I would really have to insist on a lower floor room.

The front desk staff is excellent! Laura, Pepe, Angela and Elmiliano were most attractive when I ask a question or needed directions. I was always welcomed by them with a warm smile. Lorenzo also was super helpful! Thank you all for making my stay here so beautiful.

A wonderful place to stay. Quiet, clean, and the staff was so attentive to our needs. Walkable, many restaurants/coffee shops close by. Love the walking distance to jewelry shopping.

The hotel is cozy, with a sophisticated,traditional atmosphere. Our room was quiet and comfortable with updated furnishings; the bathroom had a tub/ shower and gracious sink. The breakfast room is spacious and elegant, with a waitress for menu orders as well as a nice buffet. The hotel location is close Pza San Marco but far enough away to avoid the crowds there. Highly recommended for a romantic Venice stay.

A unique property with a deep history. This is a boutique hotel with a personality. We thoroughly enjoyed the room, amenities, breakfast, and views from the panoramic lounge. Walkable to all the key sites in Florence. Highly recommend.

The location was perfect! It was minutes away (walking distance) from Ponte Vecchio Bridge but on the quiet end, away from the busy tourist area. There were many good dining options close by. Our room was spacious with a lovely garden view. Bed was comfortable. The rooftop bar/restaurant had an amazingly view and awesome ambience. Highly recommend this hotel.
