Stunning
The Granary was a perfect getaway. Really well equipped for cooking at home and a massive big bed and bedroom for when you return after a day exploring the area. Spacious and clean and lovely homemade food items and welcome pack. Very close to Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone. Would definitely recommend a visit to Dover castle! Unfortunately only met the host briefly the morning we were leaving as they had been away but everything was well communicated beforehand. Would 100% recommend a stay here for your holiday in Kent.

A delightful place to stay!
A really tranquil place to stay and a great base for exploring Kent. Robin and Hazel were the perfect hosts - welcoming and available if needed. The Granary is in their beautiful garden yet secluded. It has everything you need for a getaway - we’ve stayed four nights but wish we’d booked for longer.

Enchanted Stay
Incredible property in the most beautiful surroundings. Greeted by the owners who recommended things to do in the evening. Bungalow was immaculate with a well stocked fridge with essentials. The place was immaculate and clean. All toiletries included. But the surrounding were most beautiful. Sitting outside having a glass of wine and being at one with nature watching the wildlife and beautiful gardens. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. A very welcome retreat.

Fantastic host
Robin was so helpful and accommodating. I booked this property for my sister and her new husbands wedding night. I asked Robin to decorate and provide a few extra touches for them and he did a fantastic job. They had a wonderful stay, said the bed was huge and comfortable and loved their time at the Granary. Thank you also for the late check out. Would most definitely recommend. Thanks for everything Robin!!

Perfect escape
We spent two nights at The Granary as we explored SE Kent on a quick getaway. The cottage is beautiful, immaculately clean, and very well equipped. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and our weekend was wonderful. This is a great place to serve as a base for exploring this part of the country...Canterbury, Dover, and Sandwich (just to name a few) are within an easy 25-30 minute drive.

Wonderful Holiday
This is a great place to spend a week's holiday in Kent. The Granery is in fact two buildings - the main building is the living area and the other building is the large bedroom. The bedroom is accessed via a small passage with 3 steps. On arrival we were greeted with the most comprehensive welcome pack. Everything from bread, butter, homemade jam and marmalade, fruit, milk, yogurts and tea, coffee and cereal and wine. The place was spotless and the bedroom had an enormous and comfortable bed and plenty of wardrobes. The village is in the high weald are of Kent and there is easy access to all the major English Heritage and National Trust site in Kent and East Sussex. Had a great holiday and would recommend The Granary to anyone wishing to spend time in this area.

Just the most charming and captivating English village experience. The house was perfectly appointed with a very delightful host and hostess. Sweet welcome basket with everything needed for breakfast. The garden around the guest house was inspiring and sublime. We’d love to come again and stay a week to soak on the quiet and calming surroundings. What a perfect stay!!

Faultless cottage and experience
The cottage and surroundings are so lovely with every care taken by Robin and Hazel to ensure high quality furnishings and fittings throughout. The conjoined parts of the cottage are roomy and warm and welcoming and clean and comfortable. Beautifully arranged fresh flowers from the garden were there along with very carefully selected and thoughtful welcome foods and very nice quality toiletries and bedding and towels. Every element of the cottage has been thought through and, as others have said, it is one of the nicest cottages it is possible to stay in. We were walking several stages of the north downs way, and to the coast, to and from the door, and the cottage was perfect in every way. The village is served by good bus services, with a bit of planning and thought, to enable a happy car free experience for us.

Highly recommended!
This cottage is a perfect base for exploring southern Kent. The cottage is made up of a clever welding of two farm buildings together, with lovely rustic decor combined with modern facilities. There is an excellent pub and shop within walking distance and main towns like Folkestone and Dover are a short drive away. We only met the owners once but they were very welcoming and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone planning to stay in the area.

This is a real gem in the garden of England. The converted granary is a fascinating and comfortable building, spacious and kept in excellent condition. I used it for a weekend writing retreat and couldn't have found any better place. The kindness and generosity of the owners made the stay a real pleasure.

Wonderful Country Respite Minutes from London, etc.
My Wife and I discovered this VRBO and could not be more grateful or more pleased with EVERYTHING. We still are celebrating our 28th Wedding Anniversary (officially it was last Saturday.) AND, there is a village near and dear to my Wife's Family that neither of us had ever visited; but stayed at "The Granary" because it was within a reasonable distance to that village. It's also minutes from Historic Canterbury (Chaucer's Tales), Folkstone and Dover!!! We arrived LATE on Friday night as we met new friends in that Village nearby and just couldn't leave them alone at the Pub (The Gardner's Arms in Higham); and then had a late Dinner in Folkstone at The Bouverie Tap (additional reviews for BOTH to come.) We were as the English say, "Shattered", "bone tired". Our HOME for YESTERDAY AND TODAY was a converted Granary (and my saying that simply doesn't give it, its's proper due! Robin and his Wife, Hazel, set us up with a bowl full of fresh bananas, green and red grapes, strawberries ('tis the season) , apples and tangerines. The bread box had a full loave of fresh brown bread, there was coffee, homemade orange marmalade, yogurt, orange juice, milk, COFFEE, TEA, butter, etc. WE HAD IT MADE FOR BREAKFAST THIS MORNING!!! Oh yes, there were fresh mushrooms and tomatoes in the fridge (and the gentlemen next door has free range eggs available too!!! Our accommodations are INCREDIBLE!!! SO MUCH ROOM!!! A Shower and a BATH!!! Most importantly for us (as we were between hotels in a fortnight (2 week) stay, A WASHER & A CLOTHES DRYER!!! We slept a bit late; but after breakfast and before heading out to Dover and then to Canterbury, we chatted with Hazel (interrupting her gardening) and Robin. We have used VRBO several times in Florida, Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii. Although not the tropical weather, this HOME was FANTASTIC!!! Thank you Hazel and Robin for your hospitality and warmth!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Granary. As others have said it is spacious and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Robin and Hazel are generous and thoughtful hosts. We found we could walk from the door onto the North Downs and walked the Elham Valley Way from Hythe to Canterbury using the excellent bus service. We would love to return.

Thank you for a 5 star stay. We’ll certainly be coming back to spend more time there as we were only able to stay 1 night. The place is furnished to a high standard and beautiful inside, much bigger than the photos make it look. Thank you to Robin and Hazel for making us so welcome, the tea, coffee and breakfast bits were an added bonus.
