Ways to Explore Dog-Friendly Franklin with Your Pup:
Dog-friendly hikes in the Smoky Mountains:
No visit to the Smoky Mountains is complete without a hike! Most trails are pet-friendly so long as your furry friend is leashed and cleaned up after. If you’re not sure how much of the trail your dog can manage, we suggest starting with a shorter hike like the one-mile Rufus Morgan trail, Cliffside, Whiteside, or (if you’re looking for a bit more of a challenge) the four-mile Bartram trail.
Dog-friendly restaurants:
Motor Company Grill—not only will you relish the old-timey diner’s burgers and shakes, but Fido also gets a menu of his own on the pet-friendly patio!
The Lazy Hiker and Currahee Brewing—which have large patios for you to kick back with a beer and some food-truck nachos to share.
Dog parks for leash-free romps:
Franklin has a brand-new dog park on Phillips Street, just down the hill from Main Street. It features separate spaces for big and small dogs, public restrooms, and even a walking trail around the exterior for those who’d like to stroll during the walk.

Restaurants
Depends on your taste:
Cafe Rel is unique eclectic French American Italian restaurant. Last I knew they only took cash.
Just down the road is Graff's Tavern Sport Bar
Downtown Motor Company Grill family oriented with old car theme and
The Lazy Hiker with micro-brewery beers and a food truck.
For country BBQ there is Fat Buddies Ribs & BBQ
And many more.

Here is some local feedback.
Tellico trout farm and Andy’s trout farm. For catch and pay. And the rivers of course. The other side of Wayah Rd is always full of fly fishermen. And Cherokee has the cheap day licenses and stock the river every week, not sure which day they stock it but it’s never good the day they stock it, they’re not hungry yet. Also have always caught fish at the KOA campground ponds in Cherokee.

Always a comfortable stay
Our family Thanksgiving vacation at the Reagan House is always fun! Plenty of room to spread out if we want, or hang out together in front of the fireplace. The location is perfect to get to Wayah Bald, Bryson City, Hiawassee, Helen…. The list could go on. Plenty of yard for the dogs (or kids) to run around. The house is older, but that is part of its charm. Our family loves this place!

Women's Weekend
We had a Women's Weekend in the mountains with 12 women. The cabin rooms worked out great and had everything we needed for cooking and relaxing. The location was beautiful and a great area to see the fall leaves. David was extremely accommodating and kept in constant contact with us. We would definitely rent again.

Family Weekend Getaway
The Reagan House had something for everyone in our family. The Grandkids enjoyed ping pong and air hockey and running around outdoors. The house was spacious yet very cozy with room for all; and very clean. Check in was a breeze and David provided all the information we needed clearly, even reaching out to insure everything was as expected. We will definitely consider staying again when in the area.

Post Helene vacation
This was our second stay at the Reagen and it was both relaxing and enjoyable. We arrived on the heals of Helene and the terrible devastation it caused in the Asheville area expecting far more impact in Franklin than there actually was. Road travel in the area north to Dillsboro, Bryson City and west to Murphy was unrestricted. Hiking trails in the area's we visited were open, but sometimes muddy. Internet and cell service was down until 10/1 but electric power was always on. The lack of internet turned out to be a blessing. Overall our stay was relaxing and enjoyable.

Mountain getaway the (reagan house)
It was a nice home the location is awesome the driveway is paved all the way down hill to the garage and had a nice turn around. The outside of the home needs a little attention nothing major the interior of the home was clean and quaint the sheets on one of the beds wasnt changed the rest were it was no huge deal they had more bedding just changed it out the washer and dryer were nice to have but the dryer took 3 drying cycles to get things dry other than that everything went great and i would stay here again

Womderful host and beautiful home. Small suggestion
Thsi was such an adorable home to stay in. Great area. Very relaxing. So spacious. The only improvement i would suggest would be to get some plastic bowl, plates and cups as we travelled with children and we worried about giving them a glass cup or plate. Would also be great to have a stocked spice cabinet but definitely not a requirement. We had a wonderful stay and will consider reserving this one again in the future

Just as advertised with great host service
If you are looking for luxury with barely used furniture and stylish kitchen and baths, then this property isn't for you. But if you want a spacious, clean but somewhat worn house for an extremely reasonable price, then this is your ticket. The kids loved the game room. We were comfortable spreading out in the back living area. The kitchen has seen a lot of use, but everything is clean and works just fine. We had an issue with our bedding the first night. We contacted the host the next morning and got an immediate fix while we were out that day. Overall, I would recommend the property for large groups on a budget. We certainly enjoyed it.
