My recent stay at Nox hotel left much to be desired. Despite the initial allure of the hotel's amenities and location, the actual experience fell short in several significant areas.
First and foremost, the double bed in my room had a mattress topper that was not only placed upside-down, with the zipper on top, but it was also not secured to the mattress. This resulted in the topper sliding around during the night, leading to a very uncomfortable sleep. The second single bed was even worse, with a mattress that was noticeably saggy in the middle and offered little support.
The state of cleanliness in the room was concerning. The window surround was covered in dense cobwebs, had spots of what appeared to be mould, and was layered with grime. The bathroom, too, had its issues. There was no extractor fan, so after showering, the steam and humidity lingered unpleasantly. Additionally, the ceiling tiles in the shower had not been cleaned thoroughly, further detracting from the overall hygiene.
The in-room temperature control was ineffective, making it impossible to adjust the room to a comfortable temperature.
Breakfast was another disappointment. While it was a buffet, the quality and availability of food were subpar. On the first day, I was served undercooked white pudding. The second day's breakfast was even worse, with many items running out and not being replenished.
