It was beautiful on the outside and inside. Very clean and looking great for an older hotel. No TV in the bedroom but we didn’t mind at all.

A charming Inn
Overnight stay on our way to the airport from Arcata. Heard about this historical Inn and want to experience its charm. Dinner was superb. Staff very friendly. Holiday decorations were beautiful
Room heater was not working and we slept feeling cold whole night. Lamps not working.

Very quaint, historic hotel. Some updates to bathroom noted, but still small. Faint musty smell to the room, but i guess you'll have that with a hotel that old. Would be better without carpet. Enjoyed the complimentary brandy, added to the charm of the room
We stumbled across this place on Travelocity and it was a pleasant and comfortable surprise with the charm of yesteryear. Breakfast on the terrace was memorable and enjoyed the room amenities and the distinct furnishings. You won't regret staying here.
A very charming hotel with good food. Great place to stay near the avenue of the giants.

Historic places are always challenging. Neat structure but needing a little more care. The biggest downside was that the heat was not turned on for the guestroom wing in mid Sept., so the room was cold. Sinks had an issue draining. We were upgraded to a functioning rooms with a fireplace to save the stay.
We had a fantastic stay. The hotel has so much history and is beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The windows opened to the dining courtyard, and we had a view of the river and bridge. We could also hear the live music from below. It was very relaxing.
The room was very clean, with nice amenities. We also really enjoyed breakfast and dinner - delicious and well presented. The afternoon tea should not be missed - wonderful hot scones!
We highly recommend this hotel and we hope to return.
Sprung for the of the Founders Rooms. When we booked, the only one available was the Leta. Top floor, beautiful view, nicely decorated, and one of the largest bathrooms I've had at any hotel.
They provide a few glasses worth of cream sherry which is a nice touch. Our experience with the service team was generally positive too, no complaints.
It's a gorgeous property with beautiful grounds. Well worth a bucket list visit.
One quick note to the hotel. There's about $12/day in fees that are not reflected in the Expedia/hotels.com pricing. The $20/day resort fee (paid at checkout) is captured by Expedias pricing, but the others were not.
