After having checked in, we realized that there were people living at the hotel, which we confirmed with the front desk. It was explained to us that there is a housing shortage and that the hotel was being used to house some people. We, as paying guests ($260 for the night) should have been advised prior to booking our stay.

My family was very unlucky to get a room where the door locks were deliberately broken my the previous occupants. Even the emergency master key could not open our room. After making several trips up and down from 5th floor the hotel staff allowed us to take a suite at the same rate as the original room. The suite was very nice and much needed after dealing with the room problem and traffic around the concert venue at UBS.

The property is very out-dated, carpets were worn out so was the only elevator that was working (the buttons were falling apart). The look and feel is very jaded and specially for the price this is surely not worth it. The room was clean and that is the only plus point, thank God we were there only for one night.

Quiet. Great hot water and shower pressure, very clean. HVAC unit was also very quiet. Breakfast well stocked, coffee hot and good. Personnel excellent - friendly, responsive, given what they have to work with. Very dated (furniture is clearly very old, carpet very stained, marks on ceiling and walls). Probably wouldn't stay again at the very high price I paid. Would definitely stay for $100/night - but I paid almost $800 for three weekend nights - for that, can stay at a brand new (clean, quiet) hotel.

I Implore All to Stay Away!!!
This was one of the worst stays I’ve ever experienced. The hotel was filled with homeless people, migrants, and sketchy individuals. A heavy weed smell permeated the entire hotel. It’s false advertising when I pay full market price for a room and then I discover that La Quinta Inn in Garden City has been converted into a homeless shelter; without any notice. I will be escalating this complaint to local authorities for misrepresentation. I implore anyone to stay away from this disgusting and dangerous place!!!

Will not stay here again!!!!
Terrible. First impression was horrible. We walked into the lobby and smelled Marijuana. The smell was by the elevator, in the elevator, on our floor( 5th floor). We were not very happy. We had stayed here previously and that us why we booked it again. I will say, the room was clean and nice. The staff did not clean up around the breakfast area .
