Welcome to Unicorn Cay on the Island of Eleuthera in Governor's Harbour. "A place so magical surely unicorns could live here." With the auto generator, water storage and now Starlink internet and WIFI you have the best of the basics while in paradise.

This luxurious beachfront estate sits on 7 acres with 300 feet of pink sand beach. Unicorn Cay was built in 1940 by a famous English writer and explorer, Rosita Forbes. It is based on the style of a French Chateaux complete with a central courtyard and an entryway flanked by turrets.

The home was recently beautifully restored retaining the original Abaco pine floors, wood work, and native stone. The central courtyard has a covered patio overlooking the heated pool. The pool is heated during the winter months. Each of the four bedrooms have private entrances from the courtyard. The master also has access from the library. The large gourmet kitchen is equipped with two refrigerators, electric stove top and two ranges, coffee nook, gathering island, and all the small appliances and utensils that you can think of. The home also offers a formal dining room, large great room with hand crafted walnut bar, laundry room, library, and media room. The numerous surrounding verandas and covered patios provide quaint areas for morning coffee or afternoon socializing.

The Unicorn Cay pink sandy beach spans 300 feet. Reefs are close by for easy snorkeling. You could walk for miles in either direction looking for beach treasures or just enjoying the incredible views. This beach is one of the most beautiful on the island. Kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and snorkel gear are all provided for your enjoyment.

Services: Housekeeping will be provided prior to arrival and after you leave. Additional cleaning services may be arranged. Recommended private chefs will be provided upon request. A special event coordinator can be arranged for destination wedding or group event planning. Golf carts are provided for use within the property.

A back up generator and cistern will provide utilities when electricity and water go off on the island. (This is a common experience on the island.) In addition, a water purifying system has been added which provides purifies water to the refrigerators' ice maker, water dispenser, and a faucet at the sink. Bottled water is not needed. Finally, a reliable and fast internet and WIFI with the recent installation of the Starlink satellite dish.

The courtyard pool is 16' X 32' and can be heated for an additional $300 per week.

Rates: The base rate of $4 725 (7 nights) includes rental of the main house and master suite or 2 guest. The main house consists of the kitchen, dining room, great room, library/media, laundry room, verandas and courtyard pool area. Included also is access to Unicorn Cay beach and the use of a golf cart within the property. Each additional guest is $50, therefore, the master and all 3 additional bedrooms (8 guest) the rate is $6825 for the week. (7 nights).

If hosting an event with more than 10 guest it must be preapproved and there may be additional charges. Please contact Jane regarding events.

Absolutely amazing!

This place was over the top! It had everything we needed and so much more! Jane was super helpful but never intrusive. The pool was the highlight of our daughter’s vacation. We did have our 3 year old stay in the master with us so she wasn’t on the other side of the pool, but there’s so much space it wasn’t an issue at all. The grandparents certainly appreciated the privacy (and quiet) of having their room separated from the main house by the courtyard/pool. We can’t wait to go back!

We found the Unicorn

Unicorn Cay was a elegant property. From the gated private pool in the courtyard, to the terrace views of the ocean, to the player piano in the huge ballroom with a bar you felt like you were in a high end hotel. The decor pays tribute to the 1940s when it was built but it still has all the amenities that you would expect of a modern property today. Jane could not have been more helpful or responsive. The whole family can’t wait until we visit again.

Family Summer Get away

This was a fabulous relaxing trip. The pictures and description did not do the home justice, it exceeded all expectations. The home was located centrally on the island and allowed us to explore. The beach was the softest I’ve ever set foot on, water warm and clear. Jane was incredibly helpful and wonderful to work with. This vacation has made us life long fans of Unicorn Cay, Jane and Eleuthera, we can’t wait to go back.

An amazing week in paradise

Everything was perfect about our week at Unicorn Cay. The Snyder's were the best hosts! They were so kind, helpful and receptive to questions that we had. And the house is absolutely amazing - even better than the photos shown online. It was adequately stocked with supplies, so we didn't have to travel or buy things like spices, oils or soap. The great room was a wonderful place for our family to spend each evening for our nightly chess tournaments. I had researched the Beach and Snorkel book before to make plans for exploring the island, but once we saw the beach (that is accessible via a short golf cart ride) we decided that we didn't need to explore anywhere else. It was a perfect beach where rarely another person was seen, and a perfect beach for long walks. At first I thought I would regret not being right ON the beach, but being up on the hill provided a beautiful view (and you could still hear the ocean from outside). And having the pool to cool off in after a day at the beach was a perfect ending to the day. Additionally, many beach "toys" and floats were required, so you don't have to worry about packing pool floats or shovels for the kids. We didn't want to leave this magical vacation villa, and hope that we can someday return. Thanks for a memorable birthday week and for providing us with family memories that will never be forgotten.

Beyond our expectations

Unicorn Cay is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. We had a family of 7 (5 young adult children) and we all had plenty of space and every amenity imaginable. The location was perfect and the short golf cart ride to the beach was so fun! We loved the beach so much we did not go to other beaches. The pool was a wonderful way to end the day and the chefs kitchen was put to good use with an amazing local chef. Jane was so very helpful and such a pleasure to deal with. This was truly the best vacation our family has had and this home itself was as much of a vacation as the island! Thank you Jane and Scott. We will be back.

Amazing property

This was our first trip to Eleuthera, and we loved it. The house is amazing, and the beach was world class. We saw so many amazing fish and coral snorkeling behind the house. Scott and Jane are great hosts and were helpful and responsive throughout our stay. We hope to visit again soon!

Perfect birthday getaway

I booked Unicorn Cay as a surprise birthday getaway for my wife. 5 friends joined us. It was perfect. Starting with the booking, Jane and Scott were responsive to my questions and helped me refine the details of our stay. The home is historical and impressive. The pool in the middle of the courtyard was naturally our central gathering spot. Each suite enjoyed wonderful privacy. It is super easy to get to the beach. Everything about the home made for a most memorable trip!

I cannot say enough about how incredible this property is! Every time I walked through the great room (living room) I felt like I was walking through the hotel lobby in a White Lotus episode. The master bedroom and bathroom are almost too large, haha. The beach straight down in front is great and if you walk down the beach to the right you’ll hit the cutest little cove that feels straight out of some shipwreck movie. Do not miss French Leave Beach! It’s about 5-10 mins up the road towards town and I think the best beach day we had. We tried going south to Lighthouse Beach, but Disney has bought the whole southern tip and it’s now shut off to tourists. Super bummer. Honestly, after some exploration to other beaches on the Caribbean side (which we thought we’d prefer) we realized we had the best spot. This house is absolutely epic on a beautiful property with A++ beaches. Not to be missed.

Even Better Than Expected!!!

We loved our stay at Unicorn Cay so much that we have already rebooked it for next year!!! This is our third time on Eleuthera and we cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The house exceeded our expectations. It is beautiful and so well stocked. Jane, the host, is the best!! She greeted us when we arrived and was always just a text away.
