Overall the hotel was good but…. We had to switch rooms initially as the first room was directly over a noisy side street. There was a foul odor coming from my bathroom than I knew I would not be able to tolerate. The staff was helpful in reassigning our rooms.
The second room was better in that it smelled better but a few items could be improved such as the half glass door to the shower that wasn’t quite wide enough so after every shower there was a pool of water on the floor. Also the serve coffee pot has no visible on/off button and no operating instructions were provided. We were there during the national holiday and although the streets were closed intermittently throughout the day many cars were seen driving up and down the street, the staff advised us that they could not call a cab and that we would meet to carry our luggage For two blocks to hail a cab. As luck would have it a cab driver pulled over about 20 feet from the hotel as we trudged with heavy luggage towards the Main Street.
The staff at the front desk were helpful in most cases.
Overall the staff were understanding and responsive in switching rooms so for that I give them credit. The items needing improvement were not related to staff performance.
