Very good

We came into town for a wedding. We chose The Hotel Monte Vista because of its location and amenties like onsite bars and restaurants. The room and voew were great. Walking distance to several stores and bars restaurants. The parking was a bit of a nightmare. They only have 2 rows of available parking for fuests. The receptionist wasn't helpful with trying to find free parking since the onsite parking was full. She slapped a map in the counter and refused to help anymore than that. The hotel has a great coffee bar and bar with a dj at 9:30pm. I wouldn't recommend the draft beer it tasted funny like lines hadn't been cleaned. They were helpful with switching out to bottle beer.

My daughter and I barely slept at all. The noise level was unmanageable. We ended up checking out after our first night and found another hotel. Do not recommend if you value sleep at all. Also the bed was a concrete slab…

The Flagstaff Friday hotspot.
Superb location in the heart of historic old town Flagstaff. The multiple bars on the lower level added a great deal of atmosphere and "vibe" to what could be a sleepy old hotel. It would be hell of a fine project to revitalize. The rooms are dated and don't require much to update - just a little. Fun place. I little Saturday night special short mirrors on the ceilings. I still liked it a lot.
I liked the old building and the bars . Loved the location. The desk staff were indifferent and not engaging at all. The loby was so dimly lit that it was a turn off. The bar was fabulous, the staff super efficient and friendly. There was only one outlet in the whole room and the hairdryer in the bathroom didn't work. One of the sheer curtains had a huge rip. Overall, I was trying to love it but was looking forward to leaving

great location but rooms a little worn down.
The Monte Vista is a very interesting historic hotel. The rooms, though, are a little worn around the edges and could use a little updating. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. The carpet was worn, and the room was cold. The heater didn’t work very good. But it was still super fun to stay there because of the location. There is a very fun, lively bar on the first level called The Rendezvous. There are also other fun bars/restaurants in the immediate vicinity. It is a great location!
I chose this hotel because it's nearly 100 years old and has a charm and character that modern hotels lack. My friend and I stayed in the Queen Suite which had a stellar view of downtown Flagstaff and two comfortable queen-size beds. The girl at the desk was very helpful when we checked in, and apologized for the lack of parking available for hotel guests (there are roughly 20 designated spots...if you park on the street this time of year be sure to move your vehicle before 3am, otherwise there is a public garage available which costs $35/day). The hotel has two wonderful bars that serve cocktails and incredible coffee drinks. One of the bars had a great live band performing that evening. The location is optimal - right in the middle of downtown Flagstaff. There are dozens and dozens of great restaurants, shops, and cafes within walking distance. The room was cozy and spacious and dated - but that's entirely the point of staying here. The television is a bit on the smaller side if you intend to watch sports, bit luckily there are many great places to watch a game in any direction. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Monte Vista, and we would definitely stay here again.
This is now the second time that I've stayed here that I had to pay $40 to park overnight because their parking lot is not big enough to accommodate it's guests. I understand it was a Friday night, and the area was busy, and both bars at the property were busy. I saw numerous cars in the small parking lot that are supposedly monitored without parking passes on their dashes. Love the charm of the property, and i'd stay here again, but the parking situation should really be addressed.

Not what I was expecting
We booked a hotel to get a decent night sleep with plans to get up early for skiiing. The live music playing that started at 9 and ended well after midnight was completely unexpected and kept everyone awake. If you would like to sleep while staying at this hotel, I highly recommend checking the venue schedule before booking, Beds are creaky and walls are paper thin. I can see the charm of a historic hotel but duct tape on the stairs carpet and outlets that you can’t plug anything into is not a good look.
Little bit of history in Flag. Great location, walkable area. Room was comfortable.

A room with a “view”
It was “fine.” Dated, for sure, but the lean into it as though it is charming. Bathroom was a tiny space with a toilet and very narrow shower with an offset shower head and very low water pressure. The sink is near the bed. Someone had unplugged all of the lamps in the room so I had to use my phone as a flashlight to have any light in the room. The WiFi wouldn’t connect or wasn’t working.
On the other hand, the rendezvous bar off the lobby made a decent drink and the staff was nice. Info online said it was own until 1a, the front desk said midnight.
There are no resources for food, water, etc. other than vending machines, so we were happy to have the bar as we got in late and everything else was closed.
