The front desk employee was not friendly. Gave wrong information about parking. The hotel is very unkempt, the carpet probably 50 years old. The room is noisy and not USB outlets. No fridges no bottled water in the room. The value to price is absurd. The hotel has old muddy smell. Building is very old. Not enough parking spots. Over all I would not call my room a deluxe queen room.

A Nice Stay in Flagstaff

This is a quaint, historic hotel, built around 1927, in downtown Flagstaff. All of the rooms have the names of celebrities that have stayed there. Personally, I prefer old hotels that have not been terribly modernized so that they no longer look old. This one falls under that category. My room had an old oak dresser and nightstand. I liked the old wooden doors. The bed was comfortable, the window view was of the street, across from the Petit Marche, a great little place for coffee and pastries or snacks. My room, on the third floor , was directly above the Monte Vista lounge so at night things could get noisy. And, there is the train a few blocks away. But, that wasn’t too bad. If you are hoping for a microwave, fridge, coffee in your room, iron, robe, this place, or at least this room, is not for you. The TV, hair dryer, tub, shower were all fine. A The front desk lobby area is beautiful. Overall, a great place to stay, close to local tourist attractions and nice shops and restaurants in Flagstaff within walking distance. And, about 2 blocks from historic Route 66, where you are sure to “get your kicks.” Don’t miss the Flagstaff visitor’s center for a nice selection of souvenirs at prices better than other shops.

The motel was at an excellent location for shopping and eating downtown. The staff were friendly a d professional. The hotel was a delight. There were names on some of the doors of the rooms indicating the fact that someone famous once slept there. The rooms wete small. But impeccably clean. It was a neat place to stay. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

Nice Historic Hotel

Nice historic hotel. No AC in the room, but it wasn't too warm while we were there. It showed some age, but I guess you'd expect that. No luggage carts and difficult to unload. Parking is a bit confusing, they should send you instructions before you get there. Decent sushi bar next door.

Room was right in line with time period of hotel very unique and quirky. Not able to control heat and got very hot. Was able to open windows but street noise loud until 3am had to wear ear plugs to sleep. Beds very comfortable, location excellent.

Conveniently located! Old fashioned charm.

Located in a perfect spot in downtown Flagstaff, this hotel has a cute old west kind of lobby, there are two bars attached and limited free parking. I was able to find a parking spot each of the days of my trip. This building is old and the rooms are certainly quirky. This is not a modern hotel, the rooms with private bathrooms might have the sink in the bedroom, like mine did. The mirror above was mounted kinda high, but there is a full mirror in the bathroom where I could see to do my makeup. It was a good place to stay for walking to anything downtown and a short drive out to lots of attractions in the area. My only issue was having just one outlet in the bedroom. There was a lamp on a bedside table, but no extension cord, or any way to use the lamp beside the bed for reading. There was a tv, but it was kind of hardwired in through a conduit, so no outlet to unplug tv and use it instead, I never watch tv on a trip. If I’d thought ahead, I could have packed my reading light. Anyway, besides that, the room was clean and comfortable.

This property although charming and clean was a disappointment. The bar in this hotel is right under the windows. When the patrons came out they stood around and chatted, yelled and screamed instead of walking home. After 2 nights of little sleep we asked to be moved or for a refund for the next two nights. The owner simply said,” we advertise as a bother with a bar, so no we can’t help you. The desk staff was trying to be helpful but to no avail. The bathrooms in each room were not satisfactory. Some rooms showed the full tub or shower but our room had a closet bathroom with the sink in the room. The shower was like standing in a tall box. The cleaning staff did an excellent job.

Jimmy Craven has run this place into the ground

The owner, Jimmy Craven, feels that its ok to sell rooms to unsuspecting customers only to find out that they have an EDM club in the monte vista lounge under them that plays loud music till 2am in the morning. They have taken a nice, historic hotel and turned it into a college student club that inly cares about alcohol sales. Do not stay here if you plan on getting to bed before 2am. I asked for someone to call and talk about the situation and they blew me off and dont care
