Located on Croftville Road, just three miles outside Grand Marais' city center, is Eve’s Place Lakeside Cabins. Cabin 2 of Eve’s Place is one of the four unique "tiny house" cottages of the resort, located just steps away from the resort's private access to the shared 200 feet of pebble beach on Lake Superior. Croftville Road intersects Eve's Place between the beach access and Cabin 2 and the narrow road is a wonderful, quiet road for walking and biking. The average speed on the road is under 20mph, as people are here to take in the beauty of this winding, narrow road along the rugged North Shore.
Come and enjoy this tiny little cottage. Originally built in the 1930s, Cabin 2 has had significant updates. This darling little cabin (at just 304 square feet) is ideal for two adults and one or two small children or perhaps three adults, if you like to be cozy, but it would be very tight for 4 adults. We have had many great reviews from families with 2 adults and 2 kids, but we don't want you to be disappointed, we want you to know this is a VERY small, well-outfitted, adorable cabin. So please make sure to consider this tight space before booking. It's probably best not to have a big dog with you in this cabin, unless it's just 2 people traveling with the dog. And please note, 4 people maximum is 4 humans :) Therefore, if you are bringing your children, they are part of the total count.
There are two bedrooms, each bedroom separated from the main room by curtains. The larger bedroom has a queen bed and the smaller bedroom a full bed. There are no closets, but each bedroom has a unique space-saving dresser and hooks with hangers are located on the walls for your clothes. Between the two bedrooms is the updated bathroom with a ceramic tile and glass shower and plenty of towels. All the linens and towels are professionally cleaned for each guest. Cabin 2 has the smallest living area of the four cabins at Eve’s Place, but we have tried to maximize the space. In the main room is a table that can seat four (if you pull it away from the wall and find the tucked-under stools), a small couch and a Smart TV if you want to watch your streaming services. There’s WIFI throughout the cabin. Also in the main room is the kitchen with a refrigerator, small electric cooktop/stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cookware and all the kitchen gadgets you should need for your stay. The full glass front door allows you unobstructed views of the lake, and it also has a hidden retractable screen if you'd like the breeze to come through the cabin. There’s a heater in the main room to keep the cabin comfortable on cool evenings. All of the spaces and areas are quite small, but well-planned to meet your needs, and every cabin is decorated with a unique arrangement of Eve’s paintings and drawings.
Just outside your front door, you can enjoy the amazing views of this majestic lake from the covered porch. Right outside the porch is a metal fire ring and four Adirondack chairs. In the evening, build a wood fire and make S’Mores with the provided marshmallow forks. You also have your own charcoal kettle grill with grilling tools. You can eat inside at the table, around the fire ring in the Adirondacks or at the outdoor picnic table. On a clear night there are always uncountable stars and, if you’re lucky, you may witness the amazing Northern Lights.
Just along Croftville Road from Cabin 2 are the wooden steps down to the cobblestone and pebble beach exclusively for guests of Eve’s Place. Much of the North Shore of Lake Superior is cliff or ledge rock, with occasional small beaches like at Eve’s Place. Head to the beach to skip flat stones, hunt for elusive agates, or simply sit and watch the waves and clouds. There’s no need for an agenda at the beach.
You can take a short drive into the town of Grand Marias, “America's Coolest Small Town", to enjoy all of the shops and restaurants, or plan a day hike/bike on the never-ending trails nearby. Or simply read a book while taking in the sights and sounds of this majestic lake. This is the ideal location to enjoy all that Grand Marais and the North Shore has to offer.
Eve's Place Cabin 2 is a Dog Friendly cabin. Eve LOVED dogs! If you are allergic to dogs, please check out Cabins 1 & 3, where no pets are allowed. The dogs visiting Cabin 2 seem to thoroughly enjoy hanging out on the front porch with their family. We provide a "baby gate" on the front porch so that your dog can hang out with you on the porch without a leash. This is a small resort with other guests around that may not love your dog, so please, you MUST keep your dog leashed at all times, and be respectful of our other guests. We do have listed that you can bring up to 2 dogs with you to Cabin 2, but once again, this is a very small space, so a big dog in this cabin will be tight. Two big dogs, overwhelming. Two little dogs....ok :) Croftville Road is enjoyed by many as a walking road, so if your dog is a barker when anyone walks by, this may not be the dog rental for you. Since we can't provide an open space for your dog to run, we give the local dog park (Go Dog North Shore) a large annual contribution to help keep the dog park in good condition. It's an easy 4 mile drive from Eve's Place. Check it out! www.godognorthshore.org Please note, we do allow dogs of any size, but all dogs must be over the age of one and fully potty trained.
If booking via our site, you will find our Pet Policy under the policy tab on the home page, and it is listed at the time of booking when you check off that you agree to our rental agreement. The pet fee is $60 per stay. If booking via VRBO, please signify if you are bringing a pet with you. Contact us at info@evesplacelakesidecabins.com regarding any questions.
Also make sure to note that these cabins were originally built in the 1930's when people were smaller. One upgrade we can't do, is make the spaces bigger. The bathrooms may be tight for you. And if you're over 6'2", you'll have to bend down a bit going through the doorways, and standing in the shower. So please consider this before booking. We don't want you to be disappointed with these tiny cottages due to their size.
