This street has become zombie land. They have to lock the doors at night to stop the many homeless outside from coming in. Because we arrived on a late flight, we checked into our room around 1am and it nearly cost us our lives. The hotel security guard looked up at us standing there with our luggage, then back down at his phone as if we were the homeless people he was told not to let it in while people were screaming for help not even 50 feet from us. On night one we saw what must have been the worst of Seattle. Over the next several days we saw many areas and hotels that didn’t seem to have this issue outside. Until that gets resolved, stay on literally any other street!

Great place to stay, staff are wonderful, very accommodating, great breakfast. Only complaint is that main entrance into hotel IS NOT ADA friendly during normal business hours. Although, Staff was present to assist with baggage’s Apparently, Hotel has 2 entrance but Cab will drop you to a entrance which has about 10 very steep steps.

There was a large presence of homeless people around the property. My arrival was really odd when I entered what looked to be the front door and two men who were just hanging out asked in not very clear English what I was doing, I replied checking in to which he said follow me. I’m sorry but a female traveling alone I was not comfortable getting into an elevator with this man. He did not appear to have a uniform on, and I almost left. While the building itself is amazing the area puts you a little on edge, again I’m sure had I not been a female traveling alone it would not have been as uncomfortable.

Excellent stay at this historic site. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The lobby was a great place to relax and play pool. The breakfast was delicious. The room was gorgeous and the bed was one of the most comfortable ones that I've experienced in a hotel room.

Good, quirky hotel that sends you back in time. Ok room—ours was just above HVAC units outside so it was kind of loud. Area immediately by the hotel has a vacant feel but it’s a short walk to cool stuff. Great lobby and Bartelme. Not sure it rates a wonderful tag but I’d stay there again if the price was ok

We found the room to be very dark even with curtains open and lights on. Very noisy on the street with homeless folks yelling at all hours. AC was super loud and would take at least 20 minutes to shut off. When the room above us flushed their toilet it sounded as if the toilet would fall through the ceiling. I realize the hotel is old. We stayed at this location due to great walking distances to where we wanted to go. I most likely would not stay here again. Unfortunately the Canadian dollar is so low once converted from US to Canadian funds it cost us a mortgage payment for 3 night stay.

The Arctic Hotel is very conveniently located along a transit line with multiple buses, and also within walking distance (or short drive) to King Street Station, major entertainment stadiums, the waterfront, and Pike Place, etc. All of the staff are incredibly helpful and polite. Although we missed out on the breakfast buffets, we did enjoy some drinks at the Polar Bar. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated that robes were provided, as well as mini fridge access, and complimentary coffees and teas. If given the chance, I would recommend upgrading to a room on a higher floor, as the noise and lights from the street can be a bit much at night (the blackout curtains did not cover every gap along the window sills). Or be sure to pack ear plugs and eye masks (although the room does have a sleep pack available for purchase). I did find the rooms a bit on the darker side despite turning on every single light available, and the fan in the bathroom didn't seem to work very well. Overall, we did enjoy our stay and would likely choose this hotel again if we are attending an event at Lumen Field or T-Mobile Park.

Loved this trip to the Arctic!
Fantastic historic building decked out with images of Arctic exploration. Everyone at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful from arrival to departure. Breakfast spread was great, and the bar area was quite cool. Location on Pioneer Square is convenient for public transit lines, including the Link and many bus lines, along with the ferry terminal. I would absolutely stay again!
