Easy access to beach and river for the little ones, mostly sand which was great. Cabin with two bunks was almost too warm overnight with 2 adults and 2 children though. Friendly, helpful staff.
Bonus of food cart with whitebait fritters after 3pm. Cabins had tea and coffee but no milk. No supermarket in Punakaiki so bring food if you want to use kitchen in cabin.
Thankful for the option of a small cabin, as all the motels in the area were fully booked. Also, the coffee/eats/ice cream cart was wonderful. Really enjoyed the easy access to the beach!

Unique stay, room is basic, pillows aren’t great. Wonderful atmosphere. Towels aren’t provided but front desk was nice and gave us some.
The cabins are amazing! The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean.

It is undoubtedly a beautiful location with high cliffs in the backdrop. The only let-down was the bugs and mosquitos. We all had bug bites.
An advice, use ample OFF bug spray all over including on tight clothes, keep an antiseptic lotion handy, including Calamine ($10 value) just to mitigate the risk of infection and subdue the itch.
This will enable you all to enjoy it in full. For blow holes, go at the time of high tide, as they only work best with high tide and ruff seas.
Convenient location to Pancake rocks after we had travelled over Arthurs Pass.
Council Caravan Park & our room was clean / tidy with all we required for one night.
Lady at the desk was friendly & helpful.
the location was excellent and so close to the beach which was fantastic i loved the hiking close by and it was great having a food stall in the campground ive never seen that anywhere before, my only dislike if you had to by food at the shop at reception i thought it was quite expensive but it was needed
Really great spot right on the beach so superb for watching the sunset.
For me it was let down by the fact that there was a mini fridge and tea and coffe making in the cabin but no milk or tea/coffee provided so dont forget to take your provisions as theres a small shop on site but if they are out of stock, you've to go to westport or greymouth which is around a half hour each way trip.
