I only travel to China for pleasure and always on a budget. The Kaiserdom Hotel fit these specifications. A common practice, in China, is to create a hotel in a high-rise apartment building, by converting a section of the building into hotel rooms. Floors 3 thru 6 are where the 48 rooms exist.
I had the cheapest room ($20 USD/night) with no window, but the AC worked great and I was comfortable. Having no window made it easier
to adjust to the time zone change, but just waking up to an alarm.
Don't get confused about the hotels location. The Chinese government implements a different GPS system which will cause Google maps to misidentify the location on many of the hotel sites. It is best to just search for the address "45 GuanLv" to get the location.
IT only cost 1 USD (7 rmb) to travel from the airport to the station which is closest to this hotel (Ximenkou), just take LINE 3 from the airport and change to LINE 1 ( at Guangzhou East station). Take LINE 1 toward XiLang and exit at the Ximenkou station, take exit B. When you come out of exit B, turn to the left and then walk about 100 feet and make another left at the first street Zhihang Rd. You the will walk 2500 feet to get to Guanlv road.
Only one of the staff is helpful in English. Her name is Layla. She only works the "day shift" . She is very lovely and interested in accommodating the guests. She suggested many interesting areas for me to visit.
