What a great stay!! We travelled with our two teenage boys and I wasn’t sure how the hostel would be for us but our quadruple room was amazing. Kids loved the bunk beds. The traditional onsen was fabulous and I used every day. Super close to train/ cable car and the breakfast was very helpful each morning.
The review would not be complete without mentioning the amazing staff. They were all so helpful and patient. Went out of their way to help us with dinner recommendations and directions. So friendly and professional.
We loved our stay.
Hakone-Gora is a quiet area near the base of the cable cars taking you up for a My Fuji view. There are a few eateries and bars but not much else, and the eateries close early. As such it is great if you want a relaxing night and the Emblem Flow has great Japanese style rooms and a terrific Onsen, Also looks to be a good base for walking in the area. We loved it after the bustle of Tokyo.
Our stay here was wonderful. The room was spotless and the staff were incredibly kind. The onsen is small (max 6 ppl) but that was never an issue. The included breakfast was a smallish buffet style of mostly western type foods, salads, scrambled eggs, yogurt, breads. The convenience of the location, minutes away from Gora station, made arriving and doing the Hakone loop so easy! Lovely spot overall.
We had a great stay here, the room was large. The meals with our package were very good. Particularly the dinner, It was delicious. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only negatives for us were the beds are very firm. I would also suggest that you book a top floor room as the second floor gets a lot of noise from above, you can hear every footstep as people walk around
Nice, clean, modern facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. The onsen was lovely. Shared bathrooms were nice. Showers are located in an onsen. There is a private shower available for women but not men.
A great, affordable hotel right by Gora station - perfect location for exploring Hakone. We opted for a private room which was lovely and comfortable. The onsen facilities are only open to guests and while small are very pleasant, and the number of people is limited at any one time. Even the snacks and drinks in the minibar were very reasonably priced and locally sourced. Thoroughly recommended!
Wonderful hotel with onsen in Gora. Most of the Staff were so nice and kind. Location is just a few steps from Gora station and is kid friendly. Beautiful room views and excellent room size (private) Liked that there was a little kitchen and laundry room too.
This is a great central spot in Gora. The only complaint we had as a group was the lack of walkable restaurants that were open on any given day (not the hotels fault). Breakfast was really good, staff is friendly, the onsen is nice and intimate. Overall nice home base for exploring hakone... Definitely worth buying the hakone transit multi day pass.. Ooo and the open air museum was fantastic!!
Highly recommend this great hotel in Hakone. Its minutes walk from the station & bus stop, providing amazing access to the Hakone sights. Room was huge, clean & the staff were incredibly welcoming.

Liked: Staff & service
Property was in great location next to stations. Very quiet area at night. Room itself was a little on the dirty side (visible cobwebs in the bathroom and stained floors). Was a bit noisily to the outside. Staff was fantastic and breakfast was top notch.

My family and I stayed here for one night and had a wonderful stay. There were some issues with the bathtub in our room and the hotel staff went above and beyond to fix the issue for us. All the staff were friendly, breakfast was tasty, beds were comfy and the hotel was clean and accomodating for our family. Best part was Gora station was directly across the road for easy transport to do the Hakone scenic loop. Would recommend this hotel to any traveller.
Fantastic hostel. We were a family of 4 (all adults) in one room. Bunks were great, spacious floor space, Onsen was nice bonus. Fantastic staff. Breakfast recommended. Can’t beat this location. Great point to stay at to experience that Hakone area on the free pass. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Friendly english speaking staff.
Clean industrial modern vibe. You can hear the cable car announcements loudly, but it stops at 5pm.

A lovely relaxing place to stay. The staff were lovely, helpful and prepared to explain about the onsen which was a very pleasant experience. Both our evening meal (vegan curry and beef with rice dish) and the breakfast were delicious. We felt our stay was very good value. The twin room was huge. The area of Gora was again relaxing with both Gora park and the Open air museum within walking distance.
Had an amazing stay! Staff are awesome. Fabulous dinner and breakfast - Japanese/Western fusion. Creative, attractive and delicious. Location can’t be beat. Right next to the Gora station.
