Beautiful onsen! Spacious room with a balcony, spotless, luxurious accomodations. Fabulous food, perfectly prepared and elegantly presented, highly recommend the half board. The entire experience could not have been better.
One of the stranger hotel experiences we have ever had. The hotel was totally deserted upon our arrival around noon. Once we found someone, even leaving our bags for check in later was challenging. This was representative of our dealings with the hotel staff throughout our stay - getting a taxi, making a dinner reservation, etc were challenging Very few English speakers. While the hotel is in a lovely setting and the rooms spacious and clean, it seems like time has passed it by. The biggest flaw is that the hotel is in a very isolated area. Other than the adjacent sister property ( which seemed a little less deserted), there are NO dining or shopping options nearly. It’s hard and expensive to get taxis so unless you have a car, the Hisui is not a good choice.
Beautiful location and views. Spacious rooms with all the comfort and amenities one can expect from a higher end spa hotel. The grounds are delightful and well maintained. Onsen thermal baths were clean and well designed. Very relaxing stay after busy days in Tokyo.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The hot baths at Hakone Hisui are wonderful. The facilities are very clean and tidy. Staff are professional and accommodating. I will be staying again.
Gorgeous location, beautiful hotel, delicious food and fantastic staff. This was an amazing and such memorable stay. Our family of five who speak next to no Japanese were made to feel so welcome. Our half bored package was amazing, both dinner and breakfast (Japanese options) and all the staff were so happy and helpful. We all wished we could stay longer.
This place was the highlight of not only our stay in Hakone, but visiting Japan in general. It was a zen oasis of peace and serenity, where every detail seemed carefully thought out to allow for maximum relaxation. Interior design blends traditional and modern, there is a lovely koi pond and garden adjacent to the dining area. We have only enjoyed breakfast, which was exquisite. The hot springs (onsen) and spa area is a must to enjoy as it is truly delightful to watch the stars and listen to nature sounds while soaking in. Also big kudos to the hotel staff for being very attentive and most helpful.
nice hotel and resorts, large room, luxury and comfort, great natural hot pool, tasty breakfast, also closed to bus station, will recommend to our friends

Incredibly relaxing experience!
It was a great experience even though the town seemed a bit dead. The room was great but they need a bit of an update. I also wished they had more food options for when there are no available options nearby.
Excellent service; beautiful and very serene surroundings. A nice gateaway place!!

overpriced/underdelivered
we had a daughter and booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child. when we arrived in our room it was small and in a basement far, far away from reception (i.e. extra long walk). so we asked for a better/different room. that of course would be a significant upgrade fee so we were forced to pay it. the gym was even dingier.
It was such a beautiful property and everything was extremely well taken care of. The staff were so polite and even though some had trouble with English did everything they could to help. We had teppanyaki at the restaurant and tried the Japanese menu. The sashimi was the best I've ever had and the wagyu beef was incredible. Afterwards we went in the private onsen for a small fee and had such a relaxing experience. The water was like silk! Our suite was massive and the beds extremely comfortable. I hope if I ever return to Japan I will have a chance to experience this again.
From start till end, it was a very wonderful experience.
Staffs, especially Ms Asuka, was very attentive to details and our needs, even came into our room to explain what they had for room service in English as menu was written in Japanese.
Hotel managed to arrange for our heavy luggage to be delivered to our next hotel easily without any complaints.
The room was outstanding, very clean and spacious and comes with a balcony and a private onsen!
Hotel is just 5-10mins walk to a bustop which has a bus that goes to Odawara station.
Spectacular property with Japanese flair for minimalist design.
Food quality in hotel restaurant is mind-blowing!
Beautiful in-house onsen. Difficult communication in English, but the staff tries hard. Somewhat remote location - takes quite a bit of time to reach from Odawara or Hakone-Yumoto train stations, but worthwhile'
Hisui appears to be a new hotel and is in the middle of the Hakone area (although away from all the other Yomoto area hot spring hotels) and feels like a true resort. It has the local bus stop just 3 min away which runs often to tourist site areas.
The outdoor hot spring is very nice and clean and not very crowded.
Staff knew us by the name and were attentive to every little detail in welcoming us.
Would stay here if I stay in Hakone again.
