I loved the location and room. I did not like that house keeping walked in twice. They did a quick knock and opened the door immediately Another time I asked for another cookie and I was told rudely that I had enough The same.lady ignored me while waiting to purchase careen snacks. She was busy flirting with another (not front desk) employee in Russian as they joked and laugh while I waited about 15. I then interrupted their conversation and asked if I can pay please She scowled and was hostile towards me

I liked the staff. They were very friendly. The hotel is very dated and the rooms are in poor condition. Expedia customers are assigned the worst rooms. My room smelled like bad body odor, the toilet was right next to the entry to the shower so I had to maneuver by the toilet to get into the shower, there were nasty stains on the carpet, there were paces on the wall and ceiling where the top level of drywall was peeled away. On my forth night in the hotel there was a noise above my room that sounded like a washing machine stuck on the spin cycle. I called the front desk for over an hour and no one answered. They did upgrade my room after that night, and while the new room was bigger, it is also very dated and run down. Not what I would expect from a Hilton hotel and given what rooms are assigned to Expedia bookers I am unlikely to book through Expedia again. Overall it was a very poor hotel experience and because I booked through Expedia and paid up front I was stuck there for six nights.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was beautiful and clean. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was great to have the restaurant on the lower level which had great food. It is right in downtown Halifax and had lots of great areas to walk around and explore.
