Had to pay $56 dollars for parking for the night after spending over $400 for the room. Parking in my mind should be included.

The hotel is totally beautiful and right in the heart of downtown which is amazing. There are a lot of one way roads in the area obviously is very hilly parking is stressful in the city. However, as far as the hotel goes, there was nothing to complain about. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. You feel like royalty. They had valet parking. There’s something very cool about calling down to reception to have your car brought up (I’ve never had valet parking before so this was a really interesting experience). The rooms are insanely gorgeous! If you’re in downtown Halifax area and the things mentioned aren’t a concern for you (the one ways, hills, lack of parking) then this hotel is right for you!!!

I loved the décore of this hotel. Valets and front desk staff were very courteous and friendly. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but enjoyed the bar area. Room was spacious and had a good amount of storage but wish it had a view. Location of hotel is good as you can walk down to the boardwalk beside the water. One downside was the single use shampoo, shower gel, etc. This should be improved upon. Overall, we would stay there again.

This is my second stay at this fantastic hotel. The staff are excellent and professional. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The windows are large, offering great views. On my first stay, I faced the Citadel and this time I faced Scotiabank Centre which still gave me a view of the Citadel as well as a glimpse of the harbour. The bed and pillows are quite comfortable. There is a bar fridge ($) as well as a separate mini fridge, a nespresso machine, kettle, real glasses, snacks ($), an ironing board and iron, and a safe. The bathroom is beautiful too with a separate toilet area, a shower with both a rain head as well as a wand, good quality hair dryer, great towels, comfie bathrobes. The only disappointment was that they now have Sandman hotel brand shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap instead of the full array of Gilchrist & Soames products (they do still have G & S bath/shower gel and also lotion). There is also an outdoor hot tub and seating area on the 7th floor. The location of this hotel cannot be beat - walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, bars, shopping, car rental.
