Things to Consider Before You Book

*The Lake House is located in rural Haldimand County where the majority of grocery stores, restaurants, healthcare services, and tourist attractions are located 20-30 minutes away.

*Lake Erie is a very large open lake that can bring strong gusts of winds and waves, which can make being in the water dangerous. You and your guests are responsible for your safety in the water.

*The water levels vary and at times the beach will be under water. From time to time, algae gets blown in along the shoreline and can bring an odour. When the wind changes, it will move on.

*The reality is that cottage living often comes with unwanted pests. Mosquitoes and black flies are rare on Lake Erie however other pests such as gnats and spiders do come to visit during the summer months. We try our best to minimize them however we do need our guests to follow some simple prevention practices during their stay.

*We are not connected to any city water or septic services. Therefore we have to get water trucked in and stored in our cistern and sewage pumped out of our septic tank. This means water is limited. We require our guests to conserve water during their stay.

*Rates are based on 4 person occupancy. There will be a fee added at time of booking for extra guests.

*One well trained friendly dog is permitted at our Lake House. Our cleaning team charges a fee that will be applied at time of reservation. We request dogs stay off bed and furniture and stay on leash when outside.

*The water is currently only accessible by climbing down the break wall rocks. There are several beaches near by if this is not possible for our guests.

*We do require a $500 damage deposit that will be held on your credit card starting the day your check-in and released 2 days after you check-out.

Payments will be identified on your credit card statement as "Door25".

*Please have a read through our house rules before booking.
Our regular check-in time is 4:00pm and Check-out is 11:00am. These times are strictly enforced out of respect for our cleaning team. A $100 fee will be charged for any unapproved early check-in and/or late check-out.

Perfect Writing Retreat
Our stay was idyllic. The pics were amazing and the reality lived up to the hype. It was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. We wrote all day, relaxed in the hot tub during sunsets, and walked along the shore. The owners were easy to contact thought we didn’t need to often because they made everything simple and straightforward. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful view of Lake Erie
We enjoyed our stay here. The only con was there was no access except to climb down big rocks to the water. The water also had algae on the shore. We could’ve drove to a nearby beach. House was well kept and owners were helpful

Our Mini Getaway not too far from home
Our experience with renting this property was flawless! As soon as we booked this cozy cottage our host Natalie reached out several times to give us suggestions of things to do in the area, great directions on a beautiful scenic route. We had a couple requests of our own that were important to us, she searched them out for us sending detailed maps. When we got settled into the cottage it was spotless clean and absolutely beautiful and cozy. Each room had such unique accent decorations like the cozy throws, pretty pictures, little side table and fluffy stool which made the cottage so homey and comfortable. I loved the hot tub, i enjoyed a glass of wine sitting in it on a night listening to the waves hit the rocks. My husband loved the water and spent many hours outside just taking in the beautiful view. We would go back to this cottage again as we loved it so much. Thank you Nat and Nick for sharing your cottage and all the new memories we made.

Nat and Nicks getaway was exactly as described! The attention to detail and care that went into creating a calm escape from the city went over and above. We had absolutely everything we needed. Watching the sunset from the hot tub and walking up to the sounds of the waves made this one of the places we have stayed. We will definitely be back
