Amazing location, clean interesting hotel.
The front desk staff was very helpful in quickly checking us in and facilitating how we could spend our time in this unique part of town. The hotel is perfectly located amongst so many interesting places that we could walk to. Breakfast was fantastic.

Lovely, clean hotel with very helpful staff
We only had one night in this hotel. It was very central and reasonably priced. The room was very clean, bed large and comfy, compact and had everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Staff were keen to help, very obliging and tried hard to please. The breakfast was great. Buffet style with lots to choose from and an egg station. Being in a lane way and off the main road reduced outside noise. But being a small hotel the rooms were very close together and compact so we heard lots of noises from other guests closing their doors sometimes slamming them, the elevator going up and down, birds kept in a cage chirping from 5.30am, upper floor movements travelling through. Better acoustics could easily fix this for a good night's sleep.

Located in a quiet back lane away from the noise and traffic of the main streets, and yet it was in a very convenient location. Rooms were small but cosy and there was a lift which was a plus. The staff, Christian and Tracy, were very attentive to our needs before and during our stay. Christian even checked on us after we checked out. We booked transport to/fro Sapa through him and the ride was very comfortable, thanks to the skilful driver despite many nail biting moments on the winding road up.

Recommended hotel in Hanoi old Q
Small hotel in the old quarter. Room is small but with a large and comfortable bed. Front desk team were very nice and helpful. In the hotel there is a travel agency also. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Nice roof terrace on the 7th floor (elevator only until 6th floor). We have traveled for 1 day to Halong bay and they kept our suitcases. The hotel is located in a very small alley, but only2 min walk from one of tbe main streets.

For the price One can not complain. Comfortable, Quiet at night, good location. Wonderful Staff. Only negative to check the bedroom is big enough for your needs. Most comfortable bed I have had so far.

Highly recommended!
We had the best time in Hanoi thanks to our stay at the Ancient Lane Hotel and itsfantastic staff! The hotel is perfectly located right in the middle of the ancient quarter and its wonderful hustle and bustle but in a very quiet and charming little lane. The room is comfortable and offers nice amenities and the breakfast is great with a really good selection included in the price! But the prize goes to the most lovely and helpful staff who absolutely made our stay - especially Tracy and Christian who were absolutely brilliant and helped arrange Ha Long Bay and Sapa tours for us. We could not recommend the hotel highly enough and without a doubt our stay in Hanoi would not have been as enjoyable if it wasn’t for them!

I had to book an extra room for my son as I was not well and it was disturbing for him as I was coughing all night. The hotel I had booked our room in was full so I booked 2 nights at Ancient Lane Hotel. It was a complete shock to encounter the receptionist at this hotel when I went to drop my son off - she was so rude and dismissive. My hotel had offered us completely free early check in at 10 am... here she said she would charge us extra. She also told us dishonestly they all rooms were occupied until 2 pm but then proceeded to show us a room without windows as an example. When I asked if my soon could check in at 12:00 in this room, she dishonestly told us that it was for someone who was spending only one night. We went off to my hotel and in the end my son was allocated the same room she had shown us in the beginning!! My son was unhappy staying here as he said some drunk guests were shouting in the corridors at about 4 a.m. and then in and out of their own rooms for 3 hours!!! He did not get any sleep. The hotel staff did nothing to stop these people. The breakfast was not as good as the one in my hotel and my son was invited by my hotel staff to join me free of charge! He ate breakfast at my hotel. I would never recommend this place
