Hotel was nice and the staff are very friendly. Found me a fan when the room got too hot. The shower could have been better the shower head was leaking from multiple places but overall the room was lovely and the food was amazing too. The takeaway breakfast really helped when I had to leave early in the morning.

Over-priced for what it is.
Check-in relatively straight forward. Room very good. Whilst there was a 'lounge' area, it was just restaurant tables/chairs. Restaurant there was a bit of a wait, we had been asked what time we wanted to book dinner - and assumed that was so we weren't in a busy period. They were short staffed, which was explained once we were sat down, but this could have been mentioned when we checked in/when we were asked to book a time for dinner. Food decent enough. Disapointed there was no flexibility for changing the pre-booked breakfast. We were hoping to have breakfast around 7am, which is not exactly an un-reasonable time, but told this wasn't possible, and a take-away breakfast was all they could do. That was not worth the £15 that breakfast was charged at. Overall the main reason for my ratings and overall mostly disapointment is actually the value - almost £200 for a twin room, for 1 night! Whilst some hotels do charge this, and in some cases more, that is driven by demand, or quality, but I'd say this is just a normal hotel, does what it needs to, but doesn't justify over the odds pricing. It wasn't busy either - so it's not like the rooms were in high demand pushing prices up. I feel £80-95 would have been a more justifiable and fair price.

Lovely Hotel, fantastic staff.
I have been staying here on business since November 2023, finally leaving at the end of March 2024. I love this hotel. It is beautifully located, perfect for my Selkirk business stay but also as a base to explore the Scottish Borders. The food is excellent with a great choice, but what really makes this a great place to stay are the so friendly and welcoming staff. Everyone is so helpful and cheerful but particular mention must be made of Leslie and Cheryl. Nothing was too much bother, and they really made my stay so nice. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Fabulous owners and fabulous hotel!!
I was put in this hotel by hotels.com as there were issues with one I had booked…. Came away wishing I had stayed here in the first place! The couple who own the hotel were absolutely delightful and my spontaneous arrival at 10pm was not a problem. They sat and had a chat at the bar with me while I had a well deserved wine and were great company. New arrivals to the local community and very keen to get the locals through the doors of the restaurant. The room I stayed in was beautiful, very spacious with a huge bathroom and private veranda. The room was not overlooked at all so shutting the curtains was optional. The room had glass doors along one side so natural light filled the room…. I was old love to return in summer months and stay in a similar room because drinks and food on the veranda would be a lovely way to spend the evening. The place was spotlessly clean. The TV was a good size and the bed/pillows were super comfy…. Often a gripe in hotels when you travel around a lot, a good nights sleep is the most important part of the stay and this hotel certainly delivered. I didn’t try the food because of my late arrival but would definitely stay to eat next time.

Excellent. Highly recommended
I love this hotel. Have stayed here numerous times over the past several months on business. It is in a lovely location with nice grounds. It is very comfortable and the food is very nice. New Italian menu launched and from what I’ve tasted it is very good. Most of all the staff are all brilliant, so friendly and so helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were so friendly (especially the lady who greeted us at the front desk and took our orders for dinner - she was amazing and clearly took such pride in her job), the room was lovely, the gardens were beautiful, and they had a huge vegan menu for dinner! We would absolutely stay again.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was perfect with a flair of the Scottish Borders. Convenient to everything we intended to do. For a smaller property they had an exceptional breakfast and dinner menu quite fitting to the location.
