Island Retreat!
Fantastic week with family! The house was larger than it looked in pictures! Bonus pool house was awesome for married adult kids! We enjoyed cooking together - kitchen is small was well equipped and the grill worked great! Close enough to the beach - just a block or so down a path. Dog friendly which was super nice to bring our dogs. The pool area was divine! Definitely recommend!

Excellent home in great condition for being pet friendly. Appreciated the fenced in pool especially with the pet friendly status and would encourage others to provide more pet friendly homes. Great walking access to relatively private beach not close to crowded resorts or condos. Loved our stay and highly recommend.

Dated, not clean and numerous mechanical issues. 3 Whistling Swan did not present as shown online.
While the location and layout of 3 Whistling Swan is great, the property is dated, in poor conditions, and should not be in the Sea Pines rental pool until all issues are addressed. The property does not come close to meeting the quality of home and experience expected from a rental home in Sea Pines. The carpets (house and apartment), pool, and air return and vents where filthy. When we arrived, the pool was green and we could not swim until Tuesday. The new pool guy showed up Sunday and Tuesday after we called the property manager to outline all the issues with the rental. He said the pool had note been properly kept. Rental company did address this and the pool was fine when we left. The rental company had to send an electrician repair several outlets but they did not get the ceiling fan and light working. On Wednesday evening, the AC in the main house stopped working properly. That was fixed Thursday evening. The carpet in the main house and apartment are old and dirty with obvious dog pee stains. The microwave in the kitchen is missing the plate the goes on the carousel. While the beds, kitchen and bathrooms were clean, they are dated. The couches in the side room of the main house are stained. Simple cleaning would likely fix that. There is a large water stain on the ceiling of the one of the upstairs bedrooms. The outside of the house and landscaping (what little there is) is in poor shape and dated. Two sliding glass doors to the outside do not lock and the door into the kitchen from the pool has mold on the door and door knob. Trim on the house is rotting and bushes need to be trimmed from the walkways. There are also cinder blocks laying around the property and on the side deck leading to the beach baths, for no apparent reason. We requested to be moved to another house but there were no other suitable homes available. While the property manager was courteous and tried to be helpful, the house was awful. We determined from talking to property mangagement company (VACASA) and the Sea Pines Homeowners association, that they and the owner were aware there were issues with the property. When I spoke to the Sea pines lead for exterior home compliance and enforcement, he said "I'm familiar with that property". Either the owner or the property management company chose not to address these issues. That says all you need to know about this property, the rental company and owner. Buyer beware. DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY!

Neglected house, great location
The property needs a lot of maintenance and repair. As an original Sea Pines house, the general construction is very poor and the owners have not invested in a total restoration other than updates to the first floor. If not for the location, we would have moved to a hotel. The main house is good only for a couple with small children because bedrooms are tiny with no storage. Pool house needs lots of work too, as does the general exterior.

We chose this location because of the two separate buildings. (Main house with a king bedroom and two twin bedrooms and a pool house with a queen bedroom and twin bedroom) which was perfect for our group. However, when we arrived we found an overwhelming smell of mildew that took all week to to air out to a tolerable level. It was fortunate that the weather was mild enough to leave the windows open but even after 4-5 days of air fresheners and open windows, the smell was strong. There were mechanical issues with several things. Both couches in the living room were broken. Dryer takes two cycles to dry clothes, iron didn’t work, pull down ironing board in the same bathroom as the washing machine was rusty and gross. TVs didn’t work well as mentioned in a previous review. There was a hose in the pool almost the entire week because the pool leaks which made the pool so cold that it wasn’t usable even in 80 degree weather. When we got there, there were half deflated floats are under the pool area, in and hanging out of the sliding glass shed/storage room. The garage on the left side is closed in to hold old chairs and worn out furniture and decor. We found 4 different cockroaches in the kitchen and alerted the management company of our concerns which were never followed up on. Overall, the location was great, the house size was good, but the house itself was in poor repair and not clean. We found a dirty fork in the drawer with the clean utensils. It’s particularly upsetting during a pandemic. We were told that the 4:00 check in time was for enhanced cleaning but there was no evidence of cleaning. We told the cleaning company that there was trash on the top of the kitchen cabinets that was visible from the steps as you walked down towards the kitchen. Again, no follow up. It definitely seems like this house is owned by a vacation company Who pays their employees minimum wage to care for this property rather than individuals who care about and take care of their home.

Family Getaway
Great place, nice renovations to the pool and house, great location for the perfect family retreat. Lots of space and very private. Will book again! The photos and the description of the home and amenities should be updated to reflect the upgrades if it hasn't been done already. Pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
