Great stay
Excellent one night stay ahead of an early Gatwick departure. Everything we could want for a family of 5, which is increasingly hard to accommodate.

The house is gorgeous. The room is large, beautifully appointed with fireplace and large windows. Quasim picked us up at the airport, made breakfast for us all while making sure we had everything we needed. We stayed at The Lawn Guesthouse when we arrived in England and a month later when we were heading for home, we stayed two more nights. The train station is a quick walk for a day trip to Brighton on our last day. If we go to England again, we'll definitely stay with Quasim.

I chose this property because it was close to Gatwick airport and it had a shuttle service. My disappointment began when I emailed the day before my arrival with a question. The hotel did not bother to reply-very poor! I arrived in the morning before checkin time and was told a room was available and I was given my room key but wasn't allowed to access the room unless I paid an additional 30 pounds. I explained that as a gold hotels.com member I was entitled to a free early checkin where available but the man on reception was too busy lecturing me on how the 30 pounds was calculated to listen. I gave up and decided to go for a walk. The hotel advertises luggage storage. Since I wasn't allowed into my room (even though I had the key) I asked to leave my luggage in storage and was told to leave my bags at reception. I did, expecting they would be safely stored. I was shocked when I returned 4 hours later that my bags were still at reception exactly where I'd left them. Anyone passing could have taken them and worse, reception was un-manned. My laptop and all my belongings had been left totally unsecured in a public space. For this reason alone I don't recommend staying here if you can't get access to your room straight away. On a lighter note, the room was clean and quiet. The shower was good and hot. The breakfast was good and the man serving was friendly and I caught the shuttle to the airport with no trouble. Nice place but the receptionist needs an attitude adjustment!

This is place is very close to Gatwick airport (1 train stop away or 25 min walk), but the neighborhood is very quiet and walkable. Lots of restaurants and markets nearby.

We have stayed at the Lawn a few times in between travelling from Canada to Spain and the UK. Each time the owners have been very helpful when we are there early for check in, with our requests for extra T bags, milk etc. Always ask if we need anything booked for our onward travels. Lovely family guest house and we have stayed in a few on Massets road, but we continue to support this one as we have found them very helpful and welcoming.

Arrived to a very warm welcome, with some help and advice about where to eat, and when we should leave for the airport the next day. Unfortunately the room was unbelievably hot to the point where sleep was almost impossible. There was a fan in the room but it was dusty and didn’t want that firing out dust at us. The room was booked for 4 people but towels, cups and complimentary drinks were supplied for either 2 or 3 people. For 1 night it was ok. The staff member on reception was very lovely and welcoming, and so were the staff members who were called upon to bring extra towels. The pillows and chairs were stained which wasn’t great, either throw them out or clean them up.

This property was very convenient and close to Gatwick and train station. It was comfortable for one or two nights but I would not want to stay longer as the room would have been too small for my family. The staff was very friendly and organized a taxi for us. Highly responsive. Walls were a bit thin so recommend using white noise to help with sleeping.

The Lawn Guest is a great place to stay if you have an early flight or late arrival into Gatwick. The sheets were clean and the bathroom was clean. The home is a refurbished Victorian with great British charm. "High street" was literally a 5 minute walk away. I was able to go to the grocery store for last minute items as well as enjoy dinner at a really great Turkish restaurant.

Friendly,comfy guest house
A comfortable venue with good room facilities and excellent friendly service. We were welcomed on arrival and extras were explained. We chose to have breakfast and an airport drop off. Our host was friendly and gave us lots of information about the airport. Our breakfast had a good choice of cereal and freshly cooked eggs and toast. Also a good range of juices/drink options. I would thoroughly recommend The Lawns for anyone needing airport accommodation or as a base to explore the area.

Great clean guesthouse
Really enjoyable stay in the cleanest Hotel/B&B ever stayed in. Owner is obviously proud of their establishment. Nice that transport to airport can be also easily arranged through owner. Comfort slipped a point because only soft pillows available which owner is addressing. 5 stars is not enough for this property.

We very much enjoyed our short stay at The Lawn. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The staff is used to people passing through on their way to and from Gatwick, and were ready with answers about airport connections. We hope to stay again one day.
