My family and I stayed in this condo in early April 2021. The condo is located on a small island in the middle of the Ouachita River/Lake Hamilton. From Google maps, we were expecting more of a secluded island, perhaps one you can walk around and explore. However, you'd really never know you're on an island and it's pretty busy with a main highway going straight through. This in no way was a con, but we just had different expectations and thought it would be good to share.
Arriving at the condo, the immediate surroundings aren't the prettiest. There are some gravelly clearings dominated by old concrete and weeds. There are also some pretty big bumps/potholes to avoid on some VERY steep roads. Take your time driving up and you'll be just fine.
Once you park, the backside of the condo is pretty unassuming. The stairs leading up are a bit treacherous, so be careful with little kids. The magic, though, is when you first open the door. My wife and I both let out an audible "wow" while entering.
The condo is nice and open and beautifully furnished/decorated. The entire front is lined with windows overlooking the large patio (which extends from the main living area to the master suite) and the lake.
The condo is one of 3 buildings, the only one on the "second level" further up the hill. Below it are 2 more at the bottom of the hill and directly on the water. We walked down to the lake but it was pretty underwhelming. The boardwalk in very short and has no railings so be careful with little kids. Honestly, we preferred being further up and back because the view was what we wanted. You get incredible sunsets behind the hills lining the river/lake.
Inside, we immediately noticed the unit was quite warm, even though the thermostat showed 69 (what we keep it at home). There's no way the temperature was actually 69. We brought it down to 66 and it still wasn't as crisply cool as we prefer.
The kitchen is great with a large island and barstools that we often used to eat breakfast around. The fridge is large and there was a nice microwave, oven, dishwasher, and PLENTY of cabinets/drawers. If you plan on eating every meal in for a week, you'll have no problems here. There were a lot of really nice plates, bowls, glasses, flatware, etc. I can't comment on pots and pans as we did not use those.
Probably my biggest complaint was the master shower. It's small, the floor was squishy, and it was a bit worn. We didn't get in the jet tub, but that was also pretty
