Ants
The cottage had ants in the kitchen and bathroom. They were in the kitchen drawers and counters- stopped counting after killing 96- Had to hang our snacks in shopping bags on the coat rack to keep the ants out. Areas of the cottage were not clean. It was a very disappointing stay- we saved for months for this- it was our Christmas gift to each other.

Interior was nice, clean and as pictured, exterior did not seem to be maintained to the level we typically see, did not really spend any time outside.

The house was great but it does lack kitchen supplies, things like a pizza pan, wine opener or dish rags. There were used sponges but no new or clean kitchen rags. We enjoyed the new fire pit area in the back. This is the 2nd time we rented and we will hopefully rent it again.

Wonderful experience
The home was very nice. Even though it rained most of the week end the place was stocked with plenty of games for our use and enough room inside that everyone didn't feel crowded. I would highly recommend this place. If I had any critiquing it would be to update the mattress' and clean the yard up. But none of this would deviate us from renting again.

House was nice, wish kitchen had pizza pan and/or pizza cutter, and there could have been some dish rags and towels and even though they mention it within the house, the ants were bad, as they were always crawling on us as we were sitting in the living, even though we were careful with not leaving food or having food crumbs. However, all in all the house was great to stay in, very peaceful.

Not exactly as described
This home looks beautiful via the post, but once you get there, the property leaves much to be desired. Starting our stay, we dealt with immediate parking issues. The next-door neighbor's driveway entry is directed into the VRBO limited parking, so we were constantly playing Tetris to ensure the neighbor wasn’t blocked in. That’s something that should be disclosed on the listing, instead they waited until they gave us the key combination and check in instructions. This house has parking for two cars at most. As soon as we walked in, we were met with bugs resting on the ceiling. After some time, we had them all killed, and as long as the doors weren’t left open, we could keep that problem at bay. The beds were ancient or the cheapest quality you could buy. The couch was newer but not very comfortable at all. However, I think it was more comfortable than the bed option. Luckily, we spent most of our time fishing off the dock, which was the only saving grace for this home. The yard was cluttered with debris, the chairs were splintering, and the fabric/netted material chairs had rips in them, leaving us all wondering if they should even be used. The last noted issue was the poorly kept boat dock. The wood seemed to be rotting all around it.

The property was remodeled nicely inside and provided all the needed toiletries and items needed to cook. The bed mattresses were very old and worn, as well as the couch. The outside was not maintained at all. The wooden chairs would have splintered you had you sat on them and the picnic table was broken. There was a lot of debris in the yard.

A pint-sized getaway on Indian Lake!
We stayed here for the weekend while visiting the Trader Days show in Lima. So we were here at night and gone all day. For 9 people, that was the perfect way to work it. Everything was spotlessly clean and we loved eating dinner out back. But everything is also really, really cozy! I think that if we had stayed around all day, it would have been a little cramped for nine full sized people (we had 7 adults). Also, the kitchen was well stocked by has no dishwasher. Like I say, we would be comfortable staying here again using it like a hotel. Way better than a hotel, for sure! But be aware of a few limitations.
