We enjoyed our stay at this hotel to the most: We loved the extremely delicious food :-), the very professional spa services and facilities (various types of massages & applications at reasonable prices, and 4 saunas!!), the nice and cosy atmosphere, and the (mostly) very engaged, friendly and helpful staff.
The location of the hotel is ideal: away from the center of the town of Mittelberg and it's busy main street, but well connected to the bus line into town and to other places in the valley, with a bus stop right in front of the door for those who would like to take a break from driving. Had there been snow, a slope and ski lift would have been right next door.
The only (minor) aspect which we would have preferred to be handled differently is what we perceived as a quite rigid seating policy during breakfast and dinner, i.e., parties of guests are assigned pre-determined tables for the duration of their stay. People who have not been lucky to be assigned to window tables never get to enjoy the wonderful mountain views out of the dining room windows at breakfast and dinner times, even if those who had been sitting there before had already left. In addition, this practice also inhibits opportunities to meet (in the dining room) fellow guests other than those who have once been assigned to sit next to you. It might be worthwhile for management to re-consider this practice in favor of more flexible options (f.e.first come-first-served basis, and multiple use of same tables)
