Great hotel and friendly staff, especially the restaurant upstairs. Cute are on the walls, and the best part - it’s right across the street from a fancier hotel that has a walk in restaurant with great live music at night.
Had a wonderful stay in this beautiful family run hotel. The staff were fantastic, fixed my TV when it broke. They also had a lovely rooftop restaurant serving great food.
The location was good and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food at the hotel was also quite delicious. The only downside were the small bathrooms.
This is the perfect budget hotel if you want to enjoy your time in Jeipur and not spend too much on the hotel.
The position is quite good and you have cheap Uber everywhere, so that is not a problem.
Also, the hotel has room service and the food is quite nice as well. There is also a rooftop restaurant next to this hotel where you should definitely go to.
Simple and clean hotel located in a quiet residential neighborhood with a pretty good rooftop restaurant with a nice view of Jaipur city and Jaipur metro. It is a family run operation and the owner helped me with information about a local tailor. They were able to accept my international credit card for payments. There are plenty of autos right outside the hotel. For the price, it was a great deal and I would consider revisiting in the future. The wifi worked very well and the view of the ruins of Hathroi fort are an added bonus.
Amazing Value: You get more than what you pay for.
I was in Jaipur for about 5 days. Felt totally safe and comfortable here. The food at the rooftop restaurant is okay ( Didn't make me sick! :D ) and the view from the roof is spectacular -- I thought it was a really great place to hang out and drink tea in the morning, check out the birds. One morning I saw peacocks walking around on the fort ( which is smaller than it seems online, but drivers in town still usually knew where it was ). Ajmer Road has banks, ATMs, convenient stores that are walking distance from the hotel. Some cons: on my last morning, I actually got locked in my room. The key-locks are pretty old fashion and my room wouldn't unlock from the inside. I had to call the front desk and slide my key under the door. Also, (not the hotel's fault exactly) but prepare to be really hustled by the auto drivers outside. I once called an uber scooter, and he refused to take me after being surrounded my auto drivers who shouted something at him in Hindi as soon as he arrived. It was sketchy. They're really pushy and were rude to the women I was with. That was honestly the worst part: having to deal with those guys every time I left in the morning.

good quality price ratio
the breakfast was very good. The booking was with mountain view, but there was no window with any view in the room.
We spent four nights in Jaipur and loved the city, and the hotel was a large part of that. The staff are beyond lovely, and we were happy to see in the New Year with some of them and their wonderful dancing!
The stay was very good. We wanted an early check-in and an early checkout. The host made it available for us at no extra cost. The rooms were extremely clean and the roof top restaurant is just too good. The locality is just 10 mins from the railway station. We were also given a free upgrade for the rooms. Overall a very very good experience!
We arrived at the Chitrakatha in the evening and from the moment we walked in it seemed that they wanted to charge us more money. We booked a "mountain view room" for 3 and when we got there they said that they didn't have the room. They tried to put us in a small dorm room with 4 single beds and no window and a screen door which provided no privacy. This room was dirty and clearly much cheaper than the price we paid. When we complained the owner told us that the room we saw on the website (the one I booked) had A/C and that if we wanted it we had to pay more. I found this extremely unfair because I had already booked our room in full. We finally paid the extra fee and went to the room which was better but not by much. It was still a bit dirty and it faced the street so it was very noisy. Everyday there was a man throwing up somewhere in the vicinity and you could hear it very violently. The location is ok but isn't safe to walk alone at night. The complimentary breakfast almost isn't worth the trouble either.
We didn't find anyone super friendly or helpful and it was a bit disappointing for our stay in Jaipur.
Nice hotel, great spacious room with a very nice staff. only drawback is it’s over a mile to old town gates and further to sites. Resturants in the area are all hotels; however, they are all located on the various roofs of the hotels often with live music. Good food and reasonable prices. The actual hotel restaurant is alright for breakfast.
Nice boutique hotel located in a nice neighborhood
Nice boutique hotel located in a nice area of Jaipur. Room had an interesting bed set up (like a military barrack) 5 twin beds one next to another, beds were a bit on the hard side. Bathroom had good water pressure and hot water on demand. Hotel is small, boutique style, and had a nice little rooftop restaurant. I would give it 4 stars if beds would have been a bit more comfortable but it was a great hotel for the price we paid.
Good experience in this Hotel. Clean single room with access to a balcony. Bathroom was clean as well. The wifi has a good quality.
Just make sure you book an AC room in the summer. Restaurant of the hostel is ok, but there many other options to eat out around. The prices of the restaurant are okay, but I did not like the food that much there, so I mostly went out.
Price are around 700-900 INR for a single room per night.
Nice view on the Hatroi fort.

3 night at Agra Chitrakatha hotel
Small, quiet and reasonabally clean hotel. Main bus station Sindhi camp is about 10 min auto ride. In the morning lots of autos are available oitside.
I was in budget room 303. Room is very small and no facilty to hang cloths. Toliet and main door locks need maintenance. Once the toilet door is closed, it will not open easily, same is the condintion on main door lock.
Some of reception sraff seems to be very mechanical, friendlyness could improve impression.
Roof top restaurant has a menu of good foods, but price seems to be higher for its standard.
Overall it is a nice hotel for budget and short stay.
The hotel stay was good. Lives up to my expectations. Centrally located near to the Jaipur railway station and the hotel provided complimentary pickup service from the railway station. Its a budget hotel and services offered were value for money. On the kitchen front, a little low on the variety of cuisines offered, but they were all hygienic and good nonetheless. Hotel staff was polite and quick to respond to any of our requests.

Decent standard of room & good food, poor service
No major dramas but the staff did not go out of their way to be helpful. For example they were not keen to let us pay on card for anything despite the cash crisis in India. They also did not show us that we needed to put a switch on and wait 10 mins before we could get hot water, and did not provide any towels- we had to ask for them. Room was cold as AC was for 3 rooms and could not be controlled individually.
Roof terrace was nice with very good food- western and Indian, all very nice.
Overall, decent standard of room for the price in India, but service needs to be vastly improved.
We spent 4 nights here after 5 weeks of travelling India. The hotel is quaint and beautifully decorated. The rooms were fairly big and have balconies. The restaurant had the best food I'd had in India and the service was awesome. I'd definitely recommend hiring a tuk tuk driver from the hotel. He didn't take us to any "commission shops" and knew all the best stores to get the best deals and was happy to take us to several ATMS. We'd tried walking around the day before but found the city too big with a lot of desolate areas if you don't know where you're going. Great hotel and great prices.
Great location with drivers ready to take you for short trips around the city. Close to great restaurants. Room was great value and clean. Owner was very friendly and helpful to our travel plans, by organising a driver to take us to jodhpur at the last minute at a fair price

No pressure selling of tours and no significant pressure to tip which is a big positive in India. Only real downside was aircon was ineffective and very loud. I would definitely stay again
