This authentic Spanish hotel is charming and the staff are all really friendly and helpful. This was our 3rd visit and just as lovely as our first. The old olive press in the dining room is a real feature.

A wedding anniversary treat
Our first weekend trip away since COVID locked us all down. Altea is just a 40 minute journey from where we live, however the feeling at Hotel Tossal is that we were much further away. A tranquil spot high in the Old Town, this hotel has olde worlde charm at its best. The staff make you feel welcome as if you were a friend, the restaurant serves high class dishes, there was no need for us to find another place to eat. Our room was large with a large terrace also with views to the sea and the mountains. Highly recommended.

Basic, clean and affordable
Rooms are basic, but clean. Ours didn't have much of a view. The tiny balcony opened onto the roof of the outdoor dining area below. The price was fair for the quality of the room/service.

Quiet reprieve and a great cat.
This hotel is a little off the beaten path and a bit rough around the edges. It was a very nice reprieve from the over stimulation of the beach front properties and surprisingly close to the "old town" and all of the truly fantastic restaurants. Fantastic staff and so quiet. The house cat, "Missy" was there to welcome us each time we returned during the day.

Our mini break.
Lovely hotel with lovely helpful staff. The restaurant served fabulous good either from the menu or you could have the menu of the day which was 3 course and 20€ a head. Definitely be back.

Enjoyable stay at the Hotel Tossal d'Altea
My wife and I stayed one night while visiting the Altea and Calp area. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. After checking in on the Wednesday afternoon We were able to enjoy a swim in the pool and a couple of hours sunbathing. That evening we dined at the amazing Oustau restaurant in the old town. We checked out of the hotel after breakfast the following morning having thoroughly enjoyed our short visit.

A Welcome change....
We stayed for 2 nights in Sept 15 while we were touring the area from Valencia to Alicante, and enjoyed our stay. WiFi worked well in our spacious room & elsewhere, pool good, breakfast good. Overall, we like the 'Spanish' feel of the hotel, a welcome change from corporate-style hotels. A car is essential, and finding the hotel initially was a little tricky - be sure to approach the long hotel drive from the CV-760.

A little further out of town than we expected but lovely hotel. The air-con in our room didn't seem to work properly, as it didn't cool sufficiently. Not sure whether it was struggling with the hottest Summer in Spain for some years. Shame about the derelict building next door but not sure what the hotel can do about it. Beautiful pool area.

Convenient hotel outside of Old Town
Hotel was nice, clean, and confidently located just a short walk to Old Town Altea. However, the room's temperature control did not work - we did not have heat - and there was no Kleenex. Upon checking in, the front desk manager did not take the time to explain the wi-fi access instructions or check-out procedures (ie if you check out before 9am, you have to check out the previous day). We had an early bus to Alicante and went to the front desk at 6am to call a taxi and check out. The security guard at the desk didn't know how to help us, and had to call the front desk manager from wherever he was located to help us which took extra time.
