Kargil has only one place to stay within a 10-kilometre radius of its centre.

Kargil can't lay claim to being the accommodation capital of North India. It does, however, feature the Zojila Residency, which is located just 3-kilometre from the CBD.

If you are coming from the centre of Kargil, it is a kilometre to the Zojila Residency.

You'd be a flamin' galah to head off without taking a look at the other things on offer in North India. Enjoy North India's beaches, coastal plains, forests and jungle. You could also head to the area's ruins and traditional villages. In this region of India, travellers may enjoy skiing.

The closest accommodations in North India are Pahalgam and Gund. Pahalgam is 95 kilometres to the southwest of Kargil, while Gund is 100 kilometres to the west of Kargil. Stayed at The Kargil in late March. Great property. Well done & clean rooms. Very welcoming & helpful staff. Daniel, the manager at the hotel, was also super-helpful in accomodating some last minute changes in our itinerary. The hotel is an oasis amid the hustle and bustle of Kargil and great base to explore surrounding areas of Drass and Suru valley. Highly recommended hotel if you are staying in this region
