Looking for an escape? Come visit Sunset Palms for your Outer Banks vacation getaway. Enjoy this beautiful, professionally decorated beach house, centrally located at MP 6.5. Surrounded by palm trees swaying in the breeze, a private outdoor shower, beautiful sun deck, and outdoor entertainment area complete with grill, picnic table, and refrigerator, you cannot help but to relax. Pack a picnic and walk to the beach or cruise the bike path to watch the sunset over the sound. No matter which direction you go, serenity will find you.

This home sits on a lovely street with a public beach access and lifeguard on one end, and a boat ramp and bike path on the sound at the other end. We are conveniently located near groceries, gas, movies, restaurants, shopping and more. Enjoy fishing on the Avalon fishing pier, putt putt with a train ride, or explore the Wright Brothers Monument right down the road. Many activities are within walking and biking distance, while all activities are only a short drive away.

This beach house includes the comforts of home. Each bedroom provides a television, ample pillows, and luggage racks. The home provides WIFI, DVD player, washer and dryer, a well-appointed kitchen, games, picnic basket, cooler, beach chairs, three adult bikes, a highchair, and more. There are many other conveniences provided for our guests, such as a starter paper towel roll and toilet paper, hand soap, small soap bar, and coffee to get you started. There will be a welcome book provided full of information to make your stay easy and relaxing upon arrival. We are right around the corner, available to assist with any needs you may have. Please feel free to ask questions for more specifics. We provide linens for our guests. You will find freshly laundered bath towels and clean sheets folded on each bed upon arrival. The bed sizes are one king, one queen, a full, and a twin if you would like to bring your own bedding.

We are continuing to add luxury and special touches to our home and outdoor living spaces. We love our beautiful beach house and are excited to share it with others! To maintain it's beauty and quality, we do not allow parties, events, pets, or over occupancy, with No Exceptions. This home is privately cared for and intended to be an escape for responsible travelers, looking to get away and enjoy this beautiful setting. Please help us maintain the luxurious feel of this home by treating our home as if it were your own. Our goal is to provide a "home away from home" feel for our guests that exceeds the average rental. This house by the sea is sure to provide a lovely relaxing beach vacation that will bring you back for more year after year.

Peaceful Getaway
We chose this location for our first visit to the Outer Banks because of the many positive reviews. We were not disappointed! The place was absolutely clean and had so many comfortable places for each member of our group to be. The location was convenient to the beach and to stores. Communication with our host was prompt and reliable. We enjoyed being able to take the bikes out to explore the area. We also cooked some dinners in and found everything we needed in the well appointed kitchen.

Wonderful Getaway!!
My family had a wonderful time in Kill Devil Hills. Our stay was great! The decor and amenities were well thought out. Everything we needed was there! The added fridge in the lower level was a bonus. The location is excellent! Our evening walks to the sound were therapeutic. The proximity to shopping and restaurants was perfect. Not too close to be intrusive but close enough to be convenient. We loved it! Even though it rained quite a bit, we still had a good time and were able to get in time at the beach. Leanne was the best host ever! We would stay again!

Absolutely loved our stay. We went with our four kids and had an absolute blast. The convenience of everything was ideal. Grocery store(s) close by Bait and tackle shop close by Avalon fishing pier close The beach a short 10 minute walk if you want to go crabbing you could go southside at the boat ramp on another 10 minute walk. Loved having access to bikes. Kids used them often and I may have taken a stroll myself ;) The decor of the home really makes the evenings easy going and chill. The deck has a nice breeze in the evenings for a drink and a book. My favorite feature… outdoor shower. Nothings beats an OBX outdoor shower. This listing is perfect and the hosts are superb. Great OBX stay!
Great place to stay. It was clean, updated and comfortable. We loved sitting out on the upstairs deck and the flowering trees surrounding it were beautiful and provided a measure of privacy. The tip in the welcome binder about a great sunset location nearby was a pleasant find; we went to that location four nights in a row for gorgeous sunsets! The owners and property manager were very helpful and pleasant to work with. We loved our visit to Sunset Palms!

Great family getaway
My husband and I took our 3 boys - ages 18, 13, & 9 for a long weekend and we had a great time! The house is super clean and has all of the necessities and then some. We took walks/rode bikes around the neighborhood. My only suggestion there would be to bring a smaller bike if you have kids under 10. We parked at a beach access one day (E. 3rd St I believe) and spent the day there. Played putt putt at night at the 2 locations nearby. Visited Bob's for brunch (good food, great experience, and really fun staff) and Awful Arthurs for dinner. This house is the perfect place to unwind after a full day. I loved the porch for coffee in the morning and drinks with my husband after our boys went to bed. Great breeze and shots of the night sky. Plus you can hear the waves after the traffic dies down. The trees offer some privacy that other homes nearby don't really have. Would definitely recommend! We'll be back!

The property is well cared for, clean and has all the necessities. Access to all OBX has to offer is very convenient yet located on a quiet street. Most of our time was spent with family nearby but beach access is close enough to walk to as well as target and starbucks. Communication by Leanne was excellent. Highly recommemd.

Perfect spot for our family close to the beach
We had a great stay at Sunset Palms with our family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Home was as pictured in the photos. The main bedroom is spacious; the other 2 bedrooms are smaller but worked great for our 3 teenagers. Beds were comfortable although the pillows were uncomfortable for us (very firm memory foam pillows) so you may want to bring your own if that's important to you. There were extra blankets and pillows in each room, which was helpful. It was exactly a 10 minute walk (about 1/2 mile) to the beach access and we went to the beach every day. Really appreciated the beach gear (cart, chairs, umbrella) that we were able to use as we flew to OBX and didn't have any of that with us. There were also 3 bikes though we didn't use them. Very close access to grocery stores (and a well-appointed kitchen) and restaurants. Highly recommend this home for your vacation!

The house was perfectly clean and nicely decorated. The deck doesn’t look anything like the pictures but we still used the provided chairs without cushions. My only complaints are the pictures were deceiving of one of the bedrooms . We got stuck with it and it was VERY small. Also, it states it’s an easy walk, it’s actually quite a distance especially with a one year old. And not a safe walk because of excessive traffic. We appreciated the beach equipment and bicycles very much. I recommend this property but if you have small children you may not want to try walking to the beach.

Absolutely wonderful place. Friendly host, well supplied kitchen, family friendly with beach toys beach chairs, beach umbrella and even a transport wagon. It is an easy, short walk to beach for sunrise, pier for sunset on the sound. Place is lovely, perfect for family with all ages from 1 to 67 🙌. Thank you for the thoughtful amenities for a wonderful family vacation; just great all around.

Clean, easy check-in/check-out, easy access to stores/needs/groceries, etc. Close public beach access if you don’t want to walk/bike. Must try Jockey’s Ridge state park on cooler days when you are up for a hike; close by and unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
