Custom built 1800 square feet log home on 64 acres with rare 1200 waterfront. Logs for the home were harvested from the land and stones for the fireplace are from the lake!
Located just 12 minute drive from Port Elgin. Starlink internet included to make your work from home possible while vacationing at the cottage!
Water slope is gradual, suitable for swimming and small boating (no dock). Waterfront has sandy beach areas, pebble beach areas, and round-rock areas. (Water shoes required)
Walk over to the adjacent MacGregor Point Provincial Park (3,000 acres), featuring sand beaches, groomed bicycle trails, boardwalks, hiking trails, renowned bird-watching venues and a look-out tower. On a hot sunny day, you’ll find the shade and coolness of the natural tree canopy to be a pleasant break from the sunny beach.
While relaxing on the spacious front deck, marvel at the gorgeous full view of Lake Huron and a front-row seat for the magnificent sunsets.
Families and friends will connect in the open-concept of the great room (living/kitchen/dining), with hardwood floors throughout. Groups with differing ages or social styles will appreciate being able to split away into 2 separate living rooms.
Basement open space is also set up with a tv and video game system.

Liability Waiver
I (we) hereby voluntarily accept all risk of personal injury, death and property damage (including personal property) to myself (ourselves), our family or anyone on the above Premises with our permission, which injury or damage results from our use of the Premises, any equipment, boats, or the Lake. Furthermore, I (we) agree that I (we) will not make a claim against or sue the Owners of Dragonfly Cove Cottage, its agents, employees, family, or related entities, for any bodily injury, death, or property damage. I (we) understand that this is a release of Owner and agents from any and all liability with respect to any claims brought by invitees for any damage or injury.
Cameras:
There are 3 cameras located outside (1 at the back deck and 2 at the front deck). They record video and audio.
-guests are responsible to dispose of their own garbage and recycling. $20/per bag fee will apply if any garbage is left behind at check out.
-absolutely no smoking of any substance indoors, $250 additional fee will apply to remove smells etc.
-please no shoes inside the cottage
-children must be supervised inside and outside at all times.
-no parties or hosting events at the cottage or at the lake
-no unauthorized visitors during the stay
-11pm to 7am are quiet hours to be respectful to our wonderful neighbours
-supplies like toilet/paper/bath towels/life jackets/books/media and all supplies etc are meant to be used while at the cottage so please don't take anything home.
-cottage is set up for 10 guests only for sleeping, no additional guests are allowed including day visitors.
-fyi cottage has spotty cellphone reception due to remote location.
-cottage is located on 64 acres of forest which is in its natural state due to being protected wetlands. Manicured trails are not allowed on our land however neighboring McGregor Point provincial park has hiking and biking trails for your enjoyment
-Cottage is on reverse osmosis water.
-Don't leave any garbage or recycling outside as it will attract animals
-Take caution when going hiking in the trails as forest can have some poison ivy and well as ticks
-Cottage is on septic tank so please do not flush anything other thank toilet paper down the drain/toilet
-When using firepit please use it with extreme care, be fire safe as trees are highly flammable. When finished with the firepit, please dump 2 buckets of water to put out any ambers
-Watershoes are required as beach and water areas can be rocky.
-Always practice water safety, wear appropriately sized life jackets. There are some life jackets at the cottage for your use but proper fit of life jacket is your responsibility so it would be wise to bring your own.
-Please bring your own beach towels.
-Please respect our cottage, leave it exactly the way you found it. Please place everything back including kitchen dishes, games etc.
-Cottage has spotty cellphone reception due to location being so remote. Most guests communicate through the internet while at the cottage or go into town.
-Reminder to keep the doors closed to avoid nature getting in the cottage. Kindly forward our rules, house manual and other notes to your group to avoid any misunderstandings after the group arrives.
Please also take the time to consider any personal sensitivities with traveling outside your home.
We don't control weather, wildlife or can cater to each individual's sensitivities. Thank you for your personal responsibility in your choice to travel to secluded forested rural cottage area.
As a reminder: you may encounter mosquitoes, ants, flies and spiders. You also will see occasionally frogs, snails and snakes around the vegetation as well as lots of birds.
Kindly pack some bug repellent to ensure nature is not bothersome to your stay.
The bugs are not associated with cleanliness issues and occasionally come from outside.
We do pest control and spray the interior and exterior regularly. As long as you keep all the doors shut, it will be more difficult for them to get in.
We are unable to offer any guarantee against or refunds for an occasional bug in the house.
We will not provide a refund for guests who do not read and understand the instructions that are provided.
