Unfortunately, the bar and food area was closed when we arrived which was a bit shocking around 5pm. We weren’t informed about the complimentary breakfast so we missed out on that. Aside from that the room was clean, staff was friendly and accomodating, the property is beautiful and well kept. The bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is well located in the Hunter mountain in the Catskills. We got the larger room with the loft and it was comfortable if not fancy. Bathroom and shower were good. The part that needs improvement is the staff. Every single person in the front office seemed very unhappy and didn't make an effort to show otherwise.

The location is great. The room was large and decorated nicely. Bed was comfortable. We wished it had better lighting - there are several low light lamps but overall, the room was very dark. The closet is in a dark corner with no lights nearby. We're not from this part of the country so we didn't realize that most restaurants, including the one at the lodge, are closed Mondays-Wednesdays in the fall. Unfortunately, our stay was Mon-Wed, so we were not able to eat at the lodge, which had come highly recommended and we were looking forward to. The nearby dining options were very limited at this time of year.

Great location, Catskills are Beautiful
The property location was fine; nice, clean, comfortable, good parking, but at $273 a day, not worth it. Staff was nice, but rarely available probably due to low season and/or new staff. No batteries at desk for TV remote, so no TV until we bought our own batteries. Biggest issue was a $65 resort fee added with no 'resort' amenities offered, appears simply hidden up charge to room rate. Given $10 credit a day credit for the restaurant/bar, but was not deducted and closed restaurant/bar without notice, even front desk didn't know, on Monday voiding the last $10.00 credit.

We liked that our room was spacious even with two queen beds, lots of floor space with minimal furnishings. Clean, quiet and has a very ski-lodge vibe. Enjoyed the Mountain View behind the hotel.

Nice, clean lodge. I work remote, so I wish there was a desk in my room. The lounge was nice. The tavern was not open every night for dinner, but there are other restaurants nearby. Breakfast was included, but note it was very simple - bagels, muffins, yogurt and fruit. I appreciate that the property and my room were clean. I would stay here again.

BEWARE: The photos of the rooms online are inaccurate. I booked the Deluxe King Balcony, because the photos for that specific room are shown as a Mountain View, but instead we had a very ugly and noisy Parking Lot View on the first floor. There were constantly cars coming in and out and shining their lights into our room which was very annoying. I paid $20 extra to have the balcony, which we didn’t even use because we didn’t want the whole parking lot to be looking at us on the balcony. The room is literally 5 feet from the parking lot, we had a car park right in front of our balcony, there is 0 privacy. The room is also on the side of a very busy and loud street. The hotel needs to specify which rooms are Parking Lot View and which rooms are Mountain View because that makes a huge difference. They also have rooms in the basement.

Room and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was nice but missing some linens. Lighting in sleeping area insufficient and arms on lights above bed would not adjust to needed positions. -- Being "off season", restaurant was not open on night we were there and no cozy fire to sit by in the evening.

Hunter Lodge was wonderful. I got a king bed on the ground floor so I could walk out to their amazing backyard with that beautiful mountain view. Everything was clean, the whole property was quiet. It was the perfect escape. Now it isn’t a new property so you will find some wear and tear (like on the bathroom door) but it was minor. And everything nearby was closed or only accepted cash so I was stuck having my m&ms for dinner lol but that’s on me. Technically I could’ve driven 40 mins out but the road my GPS took me up was so dark and it was so windy, I’m from Florida and those gusts felt tropical storm strength, plus on a dark winding one way road was too much for me to do again for food. In the day I think it took me down another route and it was not scary at all and there was no wind.
